I think the only reason mine is so low is because my parents have had Pemco since the beginning of Pemco. Mine is less than my dad's '96 Ranger, which has airbags and ABS, and he's never been in an accident or had any tickets.

My insurance just went down today from over $80 a month. When I had my first coupe it was like $28 for full coverage!

140$ a month for just my 88 hatch... I hate being a young adult. Would have had a clean driving record if some ricer in a firebird didnt do something stupid.
Was driving up the road like normal and it was clear to change lanes so I started to and he full throttled it to try and get ahead before I made it in the lane and his dumb ass didnt make it and hit my car, but since its a turn lane accident then it gets counted as me because im turning.

I smell insurance fraud coming up for repairs on mine =) I Hate to see who the victim is! JK

Another thing that will affect your insurance rate is your credit score. I'm 28, have no accidents and only 1 ticket for "failure to move over" and if I try to go to Progressive/Geico/State Farm/etc..., they want almost $200/month for basic liability just because I have bad credit.

Xaisk
11-11-2010, 10:01 AM
Really? thats retarded!!! That would explain the ridiculous cost for teens though as they have no credit... I need to get a credit score goin...

How many different occurrences were there for you to get this laundry list? Or were you just having a REAL BAD DAY?

Waaaaaaaaaaaay to fucken much! For the Ridgeline and the Civic is about $300/month (full coverage on these 2) and my 3G tips the scale at $70/month (basic insurance + 1 million liability). I've had 7 accidents that I can remember, 5 speeding tickets and 1 careless driving ticket. None of these have any effect on my present insurance premiums. I've been driving clean (no infractions) for 11 years. Auto insurance here is a public mandatory/private optional system. You must buy your basic insurance from ICBC (Insurance Corporation of British Columbia). You can then buy optional coverage from ICBC or go to private insurers for your optional coverages such as extra liability, collision, comprehensive, replacement etc.

I don't think your credit rating has any effect on basic insurance premiums here. The type of vehicle, where you live, what you use the vehicle for, repair costs, years of driving experience of the principal operator etc. form the basis for basic insurance premiums. The private insurers may factor in your credit rating for the optional coverage they provide.

My honda made mine cheaper. My 1999 superduty was 369.90 every 6months. When I added my honda it went down to 366.90 every 6months. I dont cary anything but liability insurance on the honda so the multicar discount made it go down.

Bump because I'm curious and there are a lot of people that haven't seen this.

At this point:
age: 19
tickets: 10 (all dropped)
accidents: 3 (at fault for one, one still under investigation after almost three years)

...I'm still insured through my parents and they've had a combined account through Pemco for forever, so that helps a lot, as do all of the discounts I get. I believe my insurance is around $50 per month for liability only on a $300 car. Not as bad as it was, not as good as it started...

one no fault accident when i was 17.
car is under my mom's name so i get cheaper insurance, but mine is 75 bucks a month with discounts. I think i have comp and liability, but im not 100% sure

Age: 22
Insurance/month: €11
Road tax/month: €0

In The Netherlands a car gets the "oldtimer" status when it reaches the age of 25 years. It gets tax free at that time.
There's a thing called oldtimer insurance, which means you pay just a bit and are only allowed to drive 10.000 kms (which are only being checked once a year).
But I've also got a parts car with a spare gauge cluster....... :)

I'm still registered in Alberta. 25 yo, Been insured with the same company for 9 years, I pay $56/mo for my accord, full coverage. No at fault accidents, no tickets currently on record.

Going to get fisted once I register in BC though, government run insurance is such bullshit, and such a scam if you ask me.

It's actually not that bad. I used to hate it when I was constantly breaking the law, but I realized that I would've been even more screwed had it been with private insurance. I pay about 700 bucks a year for my hilux and a little more for the accord because I've got glass collision and comprehensive on it. I know its not the cheapest but it could be worse. My wifes car got vandalized 3 times in 2 years when we were in red deer, and RBC jacked not only her car insurance, but all her deductables, and even the contents insurance on the apartment we were renting. Tell me that's fair?

ICBC only really screws you if you crash a lot, are young, or drink and drive.

That's actually not bad at all. I just keep hearing people telling me I am going to be paying double what I pay, etc, etc... The one thing I do like about my Alberta insurance is a $0 deductable from having no claims for so long. I guess I will find out next week what my new ICBC rate will be.

I just put my Accord on the road today for like 450 for 6 months. Had to pay 5 bucks extra because somebody wanted my old insurance papers more than I did.
