Hello,

I was wondering how do you remove the hatchback trunk strut/lifts off the body to replace with another pair of struts.

If I can get any help on this it would be great, I don't wanna rip off random things to find where to unscrew the struts.

located were the lift is at on both ends they should have screws you use a 10mm to get them out.:welcome:

10mm? Thanks, it just looks like the nut is from the other side. Maybe I didn't look at it carefully.

yup thats one thing youll notice about working on hondas. especially old ones, almost every thing that the average person really needs to work on is a 10mm :) convientient isnt it?

also you will notice when replacing these that the bottoms of the shocks that mount to the body will be different. The stock Showa shocks have a ball in socket design, Monroe an other after market replacement parts just have a eyelet hole. Some teflon tubing and spacers work great with this

Can anyone tell if the bottom part of the strut matches the OEM ones? I sure can't :P

those would not by the right style if going by the picture, needs to have a triangle end for the hatch side and a eyelet end for the body side
