1988 accord lxi 2 door coupe question.

I was wondering what transmissions will fit in my car? 5th gear stopped working a couple months ago and i dont want to get rid of the car because it only has 142k miles. i know its a noob question and ive tried looking it up but no luck yet. thanx in advanced for the answers. i just need to know what my tranny is and what other car trannies fit.

All four transmissions from these cars will (carb'd auto/stick, fuel-injected auto/stick), as well as the ones from the second-gen Prelude with the A20 engine. I think that's about it.

kk im probably going to rebuild the trans. easiest way for me atm.

Fifth gear is the easiest gear to fix. I believe a few of the guys have done it without pulling the tranny by pulling off the back of the transmission housing. Maybe some of the guys who have done it can chime in.
