if im looking at the engine bay, the fan on the right side will run for a long while after the cars off and have not seen them run when the car was on...
the alternator is not running so, im waiting to replace first and see how the electrical system works after...and my battery is draining while driving is another symptom, caused by the alt.

loose battery terminal will do that, causes an intermitant loss of ground which makes the relay act up

As for the fan running while the car is off: feature on the 1988(?) and 1989 LX-i and SE-i.

Fi cars have a module under the seat that keeps the fan running if the temp is over a certain point, once it drops the fan cuts off

If it's not the ground you can take that relay out and re solder the joints in it. Usually fixes them

Roodoo is right when my battery voltage gets way low charging the battery up the fans come on. The relay hangs for some reason. You want 14.7 volts running 12.7 volts car not running.
