Hey everyone I got a chance to get some 2010 honda fit rims 16" but will they fit on my 89 coupe? What i dont get is the whole offset deal. Fit rims supposedly have a +53 offset. Any help is appreciated.

they will tuck hard because of that huge offset. you're better off with the 07-08 wheels they look nicer in my opinion and they're only 15"

Fuck my life. I've been saving for those wheels for so long. I didn't know the offset was that high. :(

Are the steelies 16" too? At least for the newer Fit?

I know, but 16" steelies would be AWESOME. I've never seen 4x100 steelies larger than 15". I don't know what cars they come on.

From what I've seen Fits have either 14" or 15" steel rims. Scions seem to have 15" steel rims, too:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370201351860&crlp=1_263602_304652&ff4=263602_304652&viewitem=&guid=4cfa85411260a0269db19db1ff7b609a&hlp=false&rvr_id=178399895095&ua=WXF%3F&itemid=370201351860

And apparently some of the new style Minis have 16" 4x100 steelies.

i wasn't aware that the gd4 fits had steelies, the steelies on my gd3 were steelies with hubcaps.

VW's are more common with 15" 4x100,

there are some companies that make wheels like steelies that are 16" but they'd be expensive.

i would think the weight on a 16" steelie would be redonculous.

I see 5-lug 16" steelies all the time.

edit: stat1K, do you have pictures of your Civic with the Fit wheels?

depends, most later models that use steelies use high stength alloy steel, it's lighter for weight savings and better fuel economy.

^ There are three Fits on the display at the Honda dealer here: One regular Sport, one Sport with all (or at least most) HPF options, and the Mugen. :D

I got the geo storm steelies for the hatch and you can really feel the weight difference betweeen a factory 13 and these 14's. the 14 inch newer steelies are much lighter. a trick a lot of automakers use, is to base the fuel economy figures on the base car with no accessories, anything thats an accessory or option doesn't count towards the fuel economy ratings. that means lightweight steel wheels, no ac, no power options etc. the idea is to put those numbers on the window sticker, anywhere they can save weight, wheels etc, is a bonus. I believe wheels today also have to meet a higher stength standard then the old ones. It's all in the alloys they use, the same way they use high stength lightweight steel in the bodies.

oh someone made a comment about the weight of 16 inch steelies, i should have quoted it, i was making the point a lot of modern steelies are actually pretty light due to the new steels used in them

I have used both the 15" gen1 fit wheels and the 16" gen2 fit wheels on the accord to roll it around-the 16's look great as do the 15's
