What's the dot on the gauge cluster case? Why are there three wiper switches?

the "dot" is a light sensor, digital climate controls require them to operate 100% properly. the "3 wiper switches" is for the rear wiper, and the rear window washer

no hatches have the main switch and a secondary one for the rear wipers. looks more like a speed controlling switch for the wipers themselves rather than off-intermediate-low- high
