Im doing a auto to 5spd swap. I have read in the other post what I needed but it doesn't include the starter and I was just wandering if I needed the 5spd starter or the automatic transmission starter would work fine? Let know guys. Thanks

The people who post those kinds of threads are usually very complete, so I'm guessing since they didn't post that a different starter was needed you're fine with the original. I think the two different starters for these cars is carbureted versus fuel-injected.

There is a difference, the manual starter is adjustable .The auto one is not,but it may work.I think the nose piece can be inter-changeable.

the only difference in starters is the nose piece. change that out and you will be fine.

I was thinking the bolt holes were different, i looked at the manual and it shows three different starters, one is for the European models, and two for the US models, I think the auto and manual are different. all three are different models

the hose is above the the clutch fork, clutch cable connection. Does this hose connect to anything?

thats just a vent, it doesn't go to anything,it needs to stay over like that to prevent water from getting in
