Ok I've searched and searched, and I still can't get a definite answer, can someone tell me if a 185-75-14 tire will fit these cars at stock height? it's very very close to the maximum size listed in the sticky, almost the exact same size, i FINALLY found someone who has a good selection of narrow white stripe tires in 14s, these were the look from the 70's all the way through the 80's even into the 90's, I went through a lot of trouble to find a set of steelies with the look I wanted and finally found real stainless beauty rings to fit them, they are a SOB to find in a 14 and narrow to boot, has anyone run this size in a stock height car, or a mildly lowered one?

I believe my friend's '86 LX sedan has P185/75R13's...I can text her and ask her to look.

hey move this to the stupid questions thread???:search::chainsaw::rocket::slap::wave:

logically thinking I would say you'd have no issues running that tire other than wishing you had bigger tires.

They are .1" taller than a 205/50-15, so I dont see why they wouldn't work. But IMO your gonna regret it.

OK, I have run my handy-dandy calculations. If you could find a 185-70-14 it would be a closer fit, but 185-75-14 should work as well.

The 185-70 would have a 4% larger circumference than a 195-60-14 and the wheel/tire would have a diameter 2.5cm (approx 1 inch) larger than stock.

The 185-75 would have a 7% larger circumference than a 195-60-14 and the wheel/tire would have a diameter 4.4cm (approx 1.5 inches) larger than stock.

Since you will travel either 4% or 7% farther for each wheel rotation your speedometer would end up reading that much below your actual speed.

i did search, I couldn't get a conclusive answer, I used the tire calculator and the speedometer is only off my 4 MPH over stock, not a huge amount, the tire is actually a little wider then the factory 14, it's weird trying to figure out the aspect ratio, you would think it would be narrower, but it's actually a little wider

I'm sure they'll be just fine. I think that it is going to look funny though. If the car is lowered, it might look kinda good having a fat sidewall filling out the wheel wells.
