Hi All,
I'm a silent reader of this forum more than a jear now. I live in the Netherlands, and this is my aerodeck story:
In the Netherlands you don't have to pay road tax for cars that are 25 years old (or older offcourse). Our gouverment has stopped this rule for cars build in 1987 or newer.
So i bought a 1986 Aerodeck in februari 2009. It was a standard model, with no options at all. No electric mirrors, windows, roof, antenna.. No power steering...

As i'm a mountain bike rider, i was on the search for a towbar. I could find one new for the same price as another aerdeck WITH a towbar.
So i purchased my second aerodeck that month. It was also a 1989 basic model, but with electric mirrors.
I took it apart and kept almost all spares. And spliced the car for better storage (!)..

Two months later a did find an german 1989 aerodeck, with the most options a wanted, for a good price. It has an automatic gearbox, ALB, and electric mirrors, windows and so on...

Then came the challenge: swapping all the options to my 1986 car (!)
The ALB system is intergrated with the wire harness of the car. So i did had to change that. And if you have to remove the wire harness of the car, everything have to come of... I wanted the automatic box as well, so the engine had to come out, the pedal box, ....
But in the end it took me 3 weeks to swap everything. And it works (!) all.
I even put a cruise control in it, and converted the injection engine to carb.
On a carb engine it's $1000 cheaper to build LPG, witch is much cheaper to run if you don't have to pay road tax....
I bought 16" wheels from a New Mini, ET 45 4x100 ... thank you BMW for that..

Hi all,
Yeah, it maybe not an unusual conversion, from fi to carb.
But it's much easer (and cheaper) to convert an carb engine to run on Gaz.
And maybe i'm not completly normal :omg: (!)
I thought this is a 3gee forum... but here some pictures of my mini build..

Took a while, but also a warm welcome from another Dutch member ;)
3gee looks great (S800 and mini as well... :))
I also have never heard about someone swapping FI to carb and 5speed to auto, but there are more people on this board who aren't completely normal

Hi,
Last month, we celibrated the 25th anniversary of our Aerodeck!
And he did get a new exhaust and some other new parts..
But my supplier did have a 4drs saloon exhaust instead of a Aerodeck exhaust, it did need some modification :) ..

Rust is also a bit of a problem (and a dent in my door)
http://www.markoos.nl/forum/3geez/door1.jpg
So I painted a set of wings in blue
http://www.markoos.nl/forum/3geez/wings1.jpg
And also a door and bumpers...
http://www.markoos.nl/forum/3geez/bumper1.jpg
http://www.markoos.nl/forum/3geez/bumper2.jpg
Because my aerodeck has remote door locks, i figured why has my door a key lock? I found a 4drs saloon on a yunkyard, and i bought the door handles of the rear doors...
http://www.markoos.nl/forum/3geez/paintedparts1.jpg
Alle the painting still need some clear coating, i will take some nice pictures when my aerodeck is finnished...

Man, this stuff is awesome. Nice skills. I love the Mini, and love S800's as well. Say do you have solid motor mounts in that Mini, that's such a tight fit. Unreal man.

Thanks all for the complements of my projects....
The Mini has normal rubber engine mounts..
I got my front wings from Japan, í'm working on the engine now..
It need some new pistons and a rebore of the cilinders..
I got the pistons already and a machineshop is working on the rebore..
