Now I just got my hands on this 86 lxi hatch... and I always wanted to make a good track car set up in this car... my other hatch is a daily so I get to go wild with this new one.. my question is I can get a b18c1 gsr for around 1900... but they also have a b18c5 available for 2900.. the power difference is only 20hp... is it worth the extra 1000 to go for the itr?.. any feed back will be appreciated..

Take the gsr and with the extra cash build it a bit, IMO.

Take all the cash and get an EF, and K swap.

LOL ^

the c1 is a good motor, i wouldn't mind the difference, plus if you built it with some cams and a great 4-1 header the difference would be made up instantly, but then again those same things on the c5 would make it even betteR.

either one is good platform, but personally i would buy a b20b and go b20vtec for cheaper than both.

save more money and drop a j32 motor and a trans too match. that would be killer. please do it

that question right there shows me that you don't really know much about the motors your talking about do you?

i specifically stated b20b. if you can figure out how to make a b20aX vtec i'd love to see it.

good luck with the swap, i hope for everyones sake you do it, but more than likely we'll never see this through.

This is a question for Honda tech... We don't own any of thoes engines but if you think about it 1000 dollars for 20 hp is not a good investment
