Recently blew the engine in my 87 accord dx hatch back. I had an endine from an 89 accord exi so i swapped the intake and carb on to that and dropped it in. I'm having problems getting it running right.

When its cold its running about 2300 rpm, then once i drive it for a bit it comes down to about 1200 rpm. Then once its fully warm its idle goes down to about 4-500 barley running. Sometimes just dies out.

I've never adjusted carbs or chokes. any help or advise?

And i find when im running headlights and rear defoger and i turn on my turn signal at low rpms my battery light will flash for a quick second.

Page 11-18 of this manual (http://honda.roadpwnage.com/manuals/pages/usdm-accord-1989-full.php) will show you how to inspect the idle circuit. Choke diagnostics start on p. 11-33.

If it all worked well on the old engine, then expect that you'll need to drive it for awhile for it all to get worked in. I would be conservative in making adjustments for the first thousand miles or so.
