some type of casing?

What looks to be the mount for it.. no bolt or stud found..

I think the wire harness connects to the tab on this to apply power..

And this is probally the reason my power socket there has not been working...
:rly:

What order do these stupid parts assemble so I can put it back together?

that tab on the sleeve is for a ground connection and the pin on the bit the lighter goes into is for positive.

K thanks, what does the positive wire looks like that connects? There seems to be an absence of a wire that would plug into it......

Ok hate to double post but im going to make an assumption.

ASSUMING that the positive cable runs out of the same cluster of wires as the speakers, power, ign key for stereo wire, and ground, The wire may have been damaged. I think what may have happened is way back when, a aftermarket sony was installed, and I think that the wire may have came undone or the wierd clip at the end of the wire came off. When it was being installed nobody knew what the wire went too so they just taped it off and left it. Today when doing this, I would have cut the end of the wire out of the cluster to give it the appearance that it was completely removed.

I think that I need to find what color the positive wire for the cigarette lighter is, then crimp a wire to it to make it long again, then crimp a connector to the end of that which will be my positive cord.

Problem is I cant figure out what color the positive wire is because my manual doesnt say. Any chance anyone can take a peek behind their stereo and tell me what color the positive wire is? and what cluster it comes out of?

Thanks

the positive is white with a blue trace i think.

Yeah im pretty sure I cut that one lol. Its looking like what I said happened. Going to check the route of that wire then fix it up.

I guess when dad installed his aftermarket sony way back when sony was good, the end of that wire came off and when he was done, he found it and taped it off not knowing what it was for.

Time to fix!!!

Thanks Haunted

Ughhh figures in my fucking car that wire wouldn't be there. This car hates me...

Anyway im thinking, my headunit for my stereo has a wire for the ignition key, I ASSUME this wire is put there to supply electricity when the key is turned on. Can I splice a wire into that and connect it to my lighter to act as the positive? Theoretically, if I did that, the lighter would work when the key is turned on....

correct me if im wrong...

Try the ETM on the wiki (http://3geez.wiki-tv.com/Honda_service_manuals). It will tell you where every wire goes, it's color, how it works, etc.
