according to the law (http://dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc26708.htm), any tint darker than 88% is illegal on the front windows in california (and no company makes an 88% or lighter tint, cause it's pointless) but most cops dont care unless they are hella dark. any tint is legal on the back windows

i have 50% on the fronts and never been hassled..

nope lol.. I actually had to get literally full led interior lights since no light would come in from outside.. Parking I would have to roll down all four windows.. cops hated me. I had to remove the tint like literally 5 times... I'll never do it ever again... besides, imo, I like the no tint look better.. This was on my TL that's why I had done it...

that's what it's called when you remove all the tint in the import scene "fishbowling" the car.

i've driven in cali with 20% on the fronts and didn't get shit ever.

35% doesn't look that dark to be honest so something like 50 would be fine if you don't want it too dark. i just had to remove 32 from my wifes car to put on 35 because north carolina is the fucking gay.

50% is probably the best where it's somewhat noticeable like you want.. 70-80% is probably not noticeable at all

Eh, it makes the car not look like a fishbowl. More like a slightly tinted fishbowl.

i had 70% and you can barely even tell it's on there (especially with a darker rear)

this is 70% front, 30% rear. the 70% is "v kool", the 30% is "suntek hp".. the vkool looks a little greener than the suntek
http://www.swiftlytilting.com/images/accord/side.jpg

50% is noticable but still gives plenty of visibility even at night.. here is 50% / 30% (both suntek hp)
http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/6365/tint2.jpg

i dont think i would want to go much darker than that on the fronts

i guess the type of car also contributes...lowered, rims, loud exhaust and dark tint is just a way to get pulled over.

if you drive a benz that looks stock with dark tints...you wont get pulled over.

Around here it's illegal to do anything to the front windows, and even in the back the darkest you can legally go is something like 70%. Altho I don't think they really care about the rear windows, but if you get pulled over with tinted front windows you'll likely have to rip it off before continuing.

that's funny because my friend with a riced out civic never gets pulled over and my friend that has an infiniti q45 that's blacked out gets pulled over all the time.

My uncle drove a benz with dark tint in the '80s. Every time a cop would drive by, he'd yell, "Quick, roll down the windows so he doesn't see the tint!" He got hassled all the time for it. LOL. The car was pretty much stock, but the stock rims were chromed and had gold badges. It looked pretty much like a '80s drug dealer car overall, even though it was all stock stuff.

Yupp. That's how I drove around all the time.. with my windows always down.. Even when it was chilly out, I would just crank the heat and have the windows down.. It sucked.

I still think you should go with 50% all around... Don't do the mismatched tint.. IMHO, I think that makes the car look cheap/ghetto :dunno:

doesnt it defeat the whole purpose of having window on ur widows if u have ur windows rolled down all the time?!?!

weeeelll.... yes.. lol.... but after you remove tint after tint, you get tired of removing and retinting again... so you roll with your windows down all the time.. I guess the fact that I had completely straight pipes (no cat, no resonator, no mufflers) doesn't help either :beat:

i think it depends.. if the difference isn't a lot then it's hard to notice in person.. the 50/30 looks great imo. but i saw someone who had blacked out rears and clear fronts and that looked dumb

no it does not cause the main reason for tint is to keep the sun from ruining your interior and keeping the inside cooler while sitting only time i ever have my windows up is when its parked lol always down or half down while driving

That's what I meant.... I hate the limo tint in the back and 50% fronts.. I actually had something like 50/30 on my lude, didn't look bad.. but just "fishbowled" it.. I think the older hondas look better this way :dunno:
