been like that for like a few years now... i REALLY wish they would change it back.. there is no point and all it has done is make it harder to sell things on this site. before the market place was a great place to sell parts, and if you had something valuable people would talk about it, and that would increase interest especially among new members

if you don't know anything about koni reds and someone posts some, you might not even look twice.. but if the thread has tons of posts, then you might be like damn maybe i should buy these before someone else does

the days of worrying about "postwhoring" on 3geez are long gone.. reopen the classifieds to discussion!!! :-p

Yeah I think they need to reopen it, post whoring has calmed down, I think with the traffic the site gets now in days general posting has calmed down too....

Were there no moderators able to take on the classified section and keep things under control? Or did the group as a whole just decide to do this?

There's no more post-whoring/thread-jacking (of course) and it is no harder to PM someone than to post a question on the thread. But as some others stated, a bit of community feedback on items CAN help boost sales of certain items.

Back in the day I think we had an infraction system? If a moderator finds you to be disruptive to the board ____ times you get the ol' Nate Ban or restricted. If people have been members for long enough and/or have beyond a certain number of posts I don't see why they cannot contribute to the classified threads as responses.

I agree I think it's kind of dumb. I'm a member of another forum where any posts in the classifieds section do not count towards post count... but you can still reply. Would save the seller having to answer the same questions to clarify things over and over. It would all be in one spot.

i'm sure with the level of activity we have in the classifieds it wouldn't be a real task at all to moderate. i wouldn't mind moderating the classifieds, i do it on several other forums. just make sure there is no price bashing and no off topic chatter, done deal.

i know this thread is old but i feel like the sentiment is shared by 90% of the forum.

it's not so much that people have had problems with me, i just got sick of all the bullshit at one point and made a scene. people didn't take it too lightly, some of the more stuffy members that is. this was around the time that tommy fucked half the site's good members out of nearly 4500 dollars and people still stuck up for him. but no one has seen nor heard from him or his "girlfriend" since and that's been what 2 years? it was just bad times around here and i decided to start some fires. it wasn't appreciated but i rarely am :)
