This is really my wifes car but I have to keep it accounted for on 3Geez. Here are some pictures with my allmighty crappy camera.
The good one is lost =(

I will take exterior pictures tommorow as it needs a wash first ;)
I just polished and cleaned the engine and interior today. Vacuum and all.

Fuck my ass I went and made sure I flipped all the pictures right side up and missed one ><

Your interior is just like mine save for the fact that mine's got the white square pattern and yours dosnt. I prefer yours.. but oh-well, mine's barely even been touched lol. Good pics, looks great clean. Makes me want cup holders too! Also, i gotta clean my engine bay. Looks great..

Alot of credit should go to its previous owner known as Xybris on here. He kept this car looking beautiful.

Indeed.. This is just perfect, honda really managed to dress those seats in strong velour, many cars from that age is worn down to nothing..
Any plans for the future?

Nah im not planning on doing anything to that one. the 89 will be my wifes daily driver.

Its starting to act up though. Right before a long trip to Houston Texas.. It shut off as I was driving down the road 3 times today. Im checking it for vacuum leaks right now. It doesnt just cut off instantly though so im thinking it sounds like a fuel pump struggling to pump fuel in.

It will wait until im decelerating then it will drop RPMS way more than it should. If you give it gas it will struggle to stay on before it shuts off and you have to throw it into neutral to restart.

It still needs a wash but the weather has been crappy all day. Finally quit raining so I snapped some pics before it started again.

why is it say LX-i and there is a carb engine?

Xaisk
03-04-2011, 08:34 PM
When Xybris worked at a Honda dealer they slapped the LX-I emblem on since it had all the features of the LX-I except fuel injection.

Btw the stains on the road are not from this car. They are from our messy ass jeep.

...or a sunroof, or upgraded brakes and wheels, or nicer seats. ;)

I like the fact that I've sat in that car before, hahaha.

Dont worry even if its my wifes daily driver im going to take holy care of it. I was thinking about doing the scrape and chrome on that trim piece, it would look a shitton better. Havent had time though. Been out in Houston TX til today then I had to pick up the marriage lisense and conference with the preacher.

I appreciate the comments =D

VERY clean car you got there!

those OEM floor mats just make me sooo jealous.

You should send them to a shop that can replicate these for all the rest of us :D

I can tell you where to send them if you want... wink wink.

I could take them to a shop so you guys could have em replicated but you would have to cover the costs. Being broke sucks haha, also would have to be a shop nearby in Biloxi.

I never realized you had this thread. The stalling during deceleration sounds a lot like what would happen to me from time to time. The idle jet on the carb would plug up, therefore it would never idle once warm.

Good score on the job! I wanted that when I originally came in. Hopefully you won't mind spending some more months at Keesler in the near future. Study hard- it's an important job.

I dont mind being in Keesler alot haha. So thats why it does that? I should probally run some carb cleaner through on my next fill-up then.

Im excited to start boot camp up and tech school! its gunna be some much fun

Carb cleaner won't do it. Believe me, I was running it through periodically for years. It's been a while since I did this, but you gotta pull the tophat off to access the jets which I believe screw out. You gotta take em' out, spray cleaner through, and hit all the passages in the carb while it's exposed. I did it 3 times in 4 years. I guess shit is starting to flake off the tank or something. The filters are new, I know that much.

If you want a look in on your tech school, read here: http://www.afforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34521

I suppose ill wait a little bit before I take the top hat off and clean it out. Its not happening bad, just one in awhile. It hasnt happened in about 2 weeks though.

That was a good read! I was actually wondering about that myself. Did they have you in the newer dorms or not? Ill probally be there for awhile. I dont intend on failing out in tech school but I didnt know that you could retrain as long as you pass all of your inspections.

There is only one "new" dorm (the 4 story one) that was opened last June. They are all relatively new though. You will be assigned to the new building unless it's overcrowded. Your school building is pretty nice too, unlike the one I was in that looked like a mental asylum.

Oh ok. What building was your training in? And what building is mine going to be in? I know they all have names..

I went to Bryan Hall. ATC is in Cody Hall... or is it Thompson? They both look alike.

I dont know and wont know till tech school. Either way I know where both are.
