Hey fellas Im new here just wanted to say hello, love the mountains of information. I hope to have a sweet little honda soon. Purchased my car for $300 just the way it sits. Needs 1 tire, water pump, T-stat, pwr steering pump, and something is wrong with the carb (idles at 3k). It did start for me with 4year old gas in it, massive vacuum leaks, and a fresh battery and pulled itself on and off the trailer. So its for sure a Honda. I might spam a little so I can get pics up...sry

well I got that water pump in, kinda got whipped by the tensioner tho...
fixed every vacuum leak I could readily see...
Finally got to take it out for a spin around the block its running great! still idling a little high about 1500(park) and found out that the previous owner had broken a bolt in the T-stat housing and their fix was JB weld, fun fun...
I did notice that the windows are freaking slow is that a simple WD-40 fix or do i need to pull and grease em?

Sweet! Your in the $300 club!
Check your throttle cable and see if it's a little tight.
Is it completely warmed up and idle'n at 1500? I think your t stat can affect the idle even on the carb'd cars.
Search in carb tech for idle issues. Lot's of info in there.

i bought mine with 102K 1988 accord lx 4dr auto!! Shes clean, but runs like shit haha im givin her a tune up and will go from there, might even rebuild the carb if idle run quality doesnt improve, make sure you replace PCV valve, breather element, and both fuel filters before moving onto diagnosing carb issues!

Welcome! Looks like a good project. I try to avoid WD-40 as a rule. I'd say pull the door apart and grease or oil everything that needs it. Finish up with a coating of silicone dry lube on the felt tracks. If that doesn't fix it, you're looking at new regulators.

great buy for $300

get the hood sitting flush and the greasy engine parts away from the interior and you're good to go
