I was going to try and do all original, but be it that it's rare, I can't find squat.
I'm the second owner, and the person who had it for umteen years RUINED the interior, and even the engine.
Slowly with the guidance of others I wanna really pull this thing together, which is why I'm using the tips of you great fellows.

If not the green, what should I do? It's easily removable at this point. Everything inside has vinyl covering all the leather to prevent any more damage.
Suggestions?

Most SE-i's leather is shot at this point. You're going to just have to find another SE-i coupe with a nice interior and take it. You can look into finding an Asturias Grey SE-i coupe with a black leather interior. :D

It was an impulse buy, had to drive to work the next day, learned to drive a stick that night in a few hours time..
Friggin sucked, but I got it down like spreading warm butter.

The seat's look great. My only issue is the backseats, I don't have any in for a few reasons.

1)Stereo system
2)Weight
3)No need to drive around my d-bag friends, one passenger is all I need.

89 Se-I driver motor died, rolls down, but doesn't like rolling up.
Either I can get the motor cheap, and replace it, or make everything manual. Summer is coming, and NC is getting hot already.

Passenger motor slowly dying, rolls down easy, up is super sluggish must help push it.

Also posted about a sunroof switch. If I remember it's after market. I will post pictures of port where the switch was, it rolls in and out, and vents, but the switch was yanked out and thrown out by my uncle. Meaning I have one half working window in my coupe.

Well the best way to rule out the Window motor is to Apply 12V Direct to the pins, the Relay Reverses the Current for UP or Down, if it goes up ok with Direct 12V then it's your control box acting up.

You may already know this, but theres some Honda factory service manuals on the 3geez wiki http://3geez.wiki-tv.com/Main_Page , you'll also find downloadable brochures and other great content on there! Frantik, myself and a bunch of others have supplied the content on it

Speaking of that window be careful, Mine had that same problem, exactly rolling the drivers side back up one day and it just locked and shattered. So be sure to replace it soon, or go with the manual windows, Which is what I plan to do. Already have someone who offered to me I just have to pick them up when I go home.

Thats funny that honda people have jokes about nissans!!! Thats just great! I guess thats why I see so many riced
out hondas and so many nice nissans! You should do the whole thing like every honda, bright neon green with a h22 swap
with a b16 type-R tranny and prettending you have a fast car.listening for that vtec yo!
Dont forget about the chrome sideings and fake hood scoop and vents. Top it off with putting another muffler on your
stock muffler, then cut a hole in that too.


But its funny that you actually drilled a hole in your damn muffler! ?Even mexicans have money to get atleast a muffler.
If the honduh people had any sence they would of told you to weld the hole in your pipe that you brag so much about that
you even had on your mods list. Thats called a exhaust leak! most people fix that problem, but you made it. I bet once
you finished you stepped back and said "damn! Im gonna be fast as fuck". And that tip must of added "atleast" 10+hp.

@forrest89sei - thanks for the wiki, that will help out greatly discover little stuff! a haynes manual only helps so much.

@Charlie - Well good insight, I do remember the lady who owned it before me was in a MASSIVE car accident, fell asleep at the wheel and drove into a highway brick wall. I completely forgot about that till just now. Which explains the re-paint, and i forgot the exhaust isn't a dual end, it's single ended muffler, they had to replace it when they put in the other engine after the accident I do believe.

@HON-DUH, RAZR, 1813mdw - The Swollen Pickle comes from 1) I am a guitar player by trade, and it's a ballin' ass Fuzz Pedal from Way Huge Electronics, also the color of my car with the ugly lime green, and the interior, I felt it was just a ugly match. I dislike pickles and so I think they are ugly, so Swollen, it's a huge pickle haha.

@Nio - Once I pop off the trim sunday, I am going to check the tracks, and find out if it needs a new motor, or relay switch, or if everything needs to be greased. But I must find out how to get the trim fully off to find the issue. I couldn't get the door panel off the other day. It was still attached someplace and I couldn't find it )_:

i recommend using photoshop to experiment rather than doing it for reals only to find out you don't like it

Now the driver, I press down, it rolls or auto rolls depending on how hard I press it.
Rolling up however, I can press it over and over and over, you hear a click, like power is trying to be sent, but only once in a great while the window will actually move up. Could that be the relay? I need coooool air! No A/C lol

Before you run out and get new motors, do some diagnostic work. You usually hear that click when the window has closed or opened fully to kill power and prevent the motor from burning out.

Remove the door panel and (with window up) check the rubber channels the window slides in on both sides (front and rear of door). The rubber likes to rip right off at the skinny point where the window frame meets the door so just make sure it's still intact, in the metal track properly, and not lying at the bottom of the door. On some cars, the rubber channel can also get bloated/mishaped causing it to pinch the window too tightly.

Plug the window switch harness back into the door panel and watch the window go down. Make sure the rollers on the regulator aren't worn out/missing or off it's track. Make sure the window itself is staying in the rubber channel.

Try spraying some silicone grease down the rubber channel. If possible, close the window and open it again. If it's having trouble, try to assist it by pulling up on the glass. You'll have to do this a few times to get the silicone spray to cover all the rubber channel. 50% of the time, I can get windows that take forever to open/close to work at an acceptable speed again. The other 25% requires a new rubber channel and the other 25% needs a new motor and/or regulator.

well that would help, I can try to do that asap my next day off, I just need to find out what i did wrong when trying to remove the panel on the passenger door. I couldn't get it off all the way, it was still stuck by the window, could peal it up, and look inside, but something about it was just... wrong and I don't know what it was. But if I make it a priority my next day off then I can actually try to discover what I did wrong.

If you can peel the panel out kinda like this /| then it's just the chrome trim part hooked onto the door frame too tightly. Sometimes, it takes a bit of force to get it to come off.

no ive had my panel off prolly 10 tmes and its still in one piece.
i just give it a good smack in an upward direction to get the spring chrome out of the spring clips

Alright everybody! Got a few hours of light left, i'm on my laptop sitting on my car about to rip open my door panel and try to check out my driver window. Pictures are coming tonight.

Any last minute suggestions on what to do,
it rolls down no problem, but it has problems actually rolling up, you can press the button over and over, and it just FINALLY once in a great while will actually activate and raise.

I swear to god. I'm about to just try to convert everything to manual windows. This sucks so bad. I'm a tad bit confused in everyones explanation :dunno:

If anyone can give me steps or an easy explanation on what to do. I'll provide pictures. My only issue is free days to work on my car are on sundays. Such as a beautiful one, after the tornado's hit all through our town. So please anyone give me a message, or reply, and I'll explain and do what I can.

really bro? you dont know what to do? may i suggest going to the junk yard and practice there and learn from there. its really common sense what will make the window get stuck or take its time to roll up. just lube it up with wd40 and check the bracket.

Thanks both for the support, in the other thread, and through a Civ friend of mine, it may not be the motor at all actually. Due to the motor is working fine, now that we have eliminated that it can roll up when it wants to, it seems to be electrical. Free time is of importance when it comes to this stuff, in which case I have very little of due to I work 2 god awful jobs.

The window rolls down with ease. But rolling it up, is the issue. You can keep hitting the switch over and over and over, until eventually it finally will. No bad sounds from the motor, and when it finally does roll up, it's smooth and easy. Just doesn't always seem to work. My first initial thought was the motor was going out. Dr_Snooz kinda opened my eyes, that it could be electrical work, and may come down to a switch. But it's now locating if that is the problem. More info will come. But again thanks for the support.

Anyone know ANYBODY selling a transmission, or how I would come about getting a newer tranny.

Turns out my syncro is going bad, and the best fix for the whole thing is just get a new transmission...

I just quit one of two of my jobs, so money is tight right now, but hell how would I even search for one, via craigslist, or ebay, or anything.

Guess I still don't know enough about this stuff to know what I am doing.

WELL!!!!

I am going to look to either parting my car, or selling it whole.

I don't have the money at the current moment, and don't know what to do.
This morning on my way to work the battery died, again. This is a brand new battery. Luckly I have extremely nice co-workers, and someone is giving me their 96 Nissan Maxima, for free. No questions asked.
