sup guys. I bought my LX-i back in mid feb this year. I joined a cali forum when i bought it but no one there has 3rd gen accord.

I havn't done too much so far. I have replaced the cd player, put hub with removable steering wheel, and replaced the head lamps with projectors but still need hids for it.

i currently have a major oil leak on the oil pan gasket but planning to replace this weekend. the oil pan is screwed up. i replaced the gasket saturday and tuesday both times and it still leaked. :pc: so now gonna spend my weekend replacing the pan, gasket and going to honda to get some hondabond for the silicone. i was told to stop trying to use the blue kind from auto zone.

im looking for after its all fixed of oil leaks to replace full on exhaust. first i need to get a set of headers. i was wondering if you guys know of any ideas other than pacers for 200-300? I was told from a friend I can get some DC headers for like 150-200 if i go to this one shop and tell them he sent me. also looking to get a strut bar and intake for it too if can find anything.

as soon as i can ill post pics of it

Welcome to the Forum.
DC Headers and DC Strut Bars are no longer produced, so your only choice would be to locate a used one somewhere.
You can get a OBX header off of ebay if you want to go that route, here is the link
OBX (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-Exhaust-Manifold-Headers-86-89-Honda-Accord-2-0L-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQfitsZYearQ3a1988Q7cModelQ3aAcco rdQ7cMakeQ3aHondaQQhashZitem2c5bde0bdaQQitemZ19051 9839706QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccesso ries)

that sucks. i could always get pacesetter too. but id want chrome. those damn black ones suck. ive read everywhere the paint burns right off. so id have to remove the paint and add 1500 F paint or go get them coated in ceramic.

im going to have to fix my oil leak before i think of what i want to do.

are pacesetter headers any good? I need to fix my oil leak before I buy any exhaust or anything else. No use in wasting money in parts if motor needs over haul.

id love to drop an h22a in this pos instead. but 1 friend said it could happen another friend said can't or if did wouldn't be worth the money.

it would be worth the money if you like the body style, its not common place to do a h22 but a few have done it if you can get a hold of a b20a1 form a jdm 3g then that would be the coolest way, but there just as hard to find lol

Welcome! Are you sure that your oil leak isn't higher up, like the valve cover gasket?

just replaced the gasket to the metal part that connects the oil filter, metal part, gasket, block. i just replaced that gasket. didn't seem to leak at all. but then i lowered it and parked it back in my spot at home. and sure enough, still leaking somewhere.

it is leaking right between the tranny and the engine. my guess is the rear main is leaking. all my friends are telling me to sell the car and take the lose. i can't really afford to lose it for i need 2 cars. and i can't afford another car till next year. but i can't afford to take the car anywhere to be fixed.

my gf wants me to fix it so we can keep driving it.

since i have to pull the tranny, clutch and flywheel to get to the seal. i was thinking i want to at least replace the clutch with stage 2 clutch.

i am between doing something or anything with the tranny or flywheel.

i found F1 stage 2 clutch with pressure plate for $150. it is around $160-$170 after delievery.

what are your guys thoughts about this?

Don't sell the car. It would be unusual for your rear main to be leaking. It's more likely to be the distributor o-ring. It's $3 from the dealer and takes about 15 minutes to change. It could also be the valve cover gasket. It's $20 and takes 15 minutes to change. Keep the car. Spend the time it takes to get it running right. You'll be laughing at your friends in the end.

i live farther than that. i live in the ie/951. i am near temecula.

as for knowing where it is leaking. i know its gotta be rear main.

i can see it running and dripping between the tranny and engine. ive already pulled my axles, drained the fluid from the tranny. today i am going to prep the tranny more to drop if possible im gonna drop the tranny.

i want to install F1 stage 1 clutch and either 10 or 12 pound flywheel. i can't seem to find any 10 or 12 pound flywheels. i found my clutch kit, just need to find flywheel.

the oil leak is obv coming from rear main. ive checked the valve cover and the dis and they both are good. i will down the line replace those but not right now.

i am also looking to port n polish the head and intake manifold. i got quoted around $300 for head and intake ported n polish, gasket match...

sorry for what? my dis and valve cover isn't leaking, or at least bad enough to be THE leak that I am having currently. it has old oil on it, while i have the tranny pull i am going to remove the dis and clean that up and replace the gasket on that, and probably going to do the valve cover too, i want to check my valve clearance to maybe do valve adjustments.

here are some pics.

So ur in temecula?.. or near there? Cause that would make u the closest member to methat I know of..

i am just north of temecula. I am in Hemet, but I tell people that i am near temecula cause everyone knows of temecula.

I was just wondering, I want a 10 or 12 pound flywheel. I can't seem to find one, and someone here said to take to a machine shop to have it weight reduced to it. I told my friend and he said that would weaken the flywheel. Could use some advice.

I am doing rear main seal. I am thinking of rebuilding my tranny while its off. I am planning to get a stage 1 clutch and if possible would like to get a lighter flywheel, stock is 22 pounds and thick as shit.

I also am replacing my dis o-ring and my valve cover gasket and checking my valve clearance. I am trying to fix any and all oil leaks and fixing or adjusting anything I come in contact with while doing so. I plan to keep this car for a long long time since I am doing soo much work to it. After this all that will be left is rebuild motor, exhaust, drop, and upper and lower arms to do the ball joints.
