My exhaust has rotted on the piece from the converter back to the muffler. The Maremont part number at autozone is 349425 however they are telling me they no longer carry that brand and can not order it. They now deal in Walker exhaust parts. The part I am seeing that appears to fit would be 44870 but has a resonator built into the pipe and they are telling me is meant for the hatchback model and will not work on the coupe. Is there any truth to this? I know the pipe on mine does not have a resonator built in but then again the car is an 89 and I'm sure the exhaust has been replaced a time or 2 in its life time. So can anyone on here verify that the coupe and hatch exhaust are the same? Or show me somewhere I can get the part I need at a reasonable price. The Maremont was gonna be 58.99 that they can no longer order and the Walker one is 85.99 but they say it won't fit the coupe. I have also tried advanceautoparts, and oriellys and neither seem to know what they are talking about since advance is telling me I need 3 pieces for 80 bucks and oriellys says its 2 pieces for 110. And I also called the dealer and they wanted 157 which I think is a bit high for 1 pipe. I looked on rockauto also but don't see the pipe I'm looking for on there :( If any of you guys can help that would be greatly appreciated. The car is an 89 DX 2dr manual. Thanks again guys.

hatchy is a bit longer. like maybe 2 inches. nothing that couldn't be worked around. I put a hatch exhaust on my coupe and it sticks out just a little bit. not even past the bumper. All the bends are the same though so it will fit. Or you could just go to an exhaust shop and have them make you one

So the resinator built into the pipe means nothing. The extra length is ok since i have access to torches as well as a welder. Thanks for the answer. From the pics all the bends looked identical to me so i was wondering what the heck the difference was...

I assume this Bosal brand is the same (but what would be the difference in the 2 Bosal brand pipes???

Have you considered getting the part from the junkyard?
