Alright , I've been gathering parts to revamp the suspension on my hatch. I'm basically doing this as a preventative maintenance measure, and not need to worry about it for a long time.

I don't think anything is that bad besides my tie rod ends and maybe ball joints. My car also has 210k so the springs, shocks are tired as well. But anyway I want to replace everything I can while I have it apart.

The front is my first concern, since I replaced the rear UCA's when i first got the car and the rear has given me no problems since.

So far I have; Front

New UCA's w/balljoint + bushings- Beck Arnley 555
Lower balljoints- 555
Wheel bearings- Beck Arnley
Tierod ends, inner + outer Lemforder, Beck Arnley
Springs, oem replacment TRW
Shocks, KYB GR2

Still need;

Strut rod bushings
Strut fork bushings, <-Do these need to be burned out?
................???

I've heard that the radius rod bushings are also a good thing to replace but I cant find them on rockauto. Anybody know where to find these?

I plan on replacing my sway bar with a Lxi one when I find one. I'll wait to get new bushings for that.

Anything else that should be replaced while I have everything apart?

Thanks for any advice.

strut rod bushing = radius rod bushing. definitely a good idea to replace those. Mine are shot, and I'm waiting on a new set of prothane bushings to show up in the mail. Hopefully they do before this next race.

All of the lower control arm bushings need to be burned/punched out. If you're going to replace them I'd just go ahead and do them in poly. prothane and energy susupension both makes lower control arm bushings for us. They're way easier to install than the factory bushings are.

Thanks man, rockauto is listing "strut rod bushing" but is really upper shock bushing.

So I'll get a set of these- http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=16.7102 These are for radius rod correct?

and these- http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=8907

and I'll still need some of these- http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=MOOG-K9517 Funny they still list these as strut rod bushings.

the first link you listed is indeed the poly radius rod bushings. the last link for the moog bushings is the factory radius rod bushings. Those aren't the strut bushings.

If you go with the poly radius rod bushings remember that you need to cut about 1/4" off of the metal sleeve. For some reason they're just a bit too long and will cause the suspension to clunk slightly if you don't trim them.

Ya I'm definitely going to get the poly radius bushings....... Actually two sets!!!??

I just picked up a new 3gee today! :nervous: ....... I'm afraid I've got the 3gee fever

And now I can park the hatch and have some time to put more work into it.

I do believe there is a "3geezus"
