Things have changed a little though in the last couple of years but not a lot as the idea is to keep this as original looking as possible.

I've put on some EDM SI wheels which i think suit they are very light and with 195/60/14 tyres give quite a lot of cornering grip for an old car!

Paintwork all original and when clean looks stunning spends most it's time wrapped up in cotton wool very rarely gets wet!

Exhaust was custom made from the Cast manifold down all mandrel bent and stainless steel very nicely made and welded no dodgy extra bends and minimal welding going on.

Engine is stock except for camshaft and this was due to the original rockers loosing their case hardening and damaging the cam lobes, i put in a set of revisied rockers from A20 with the hardened wear pads and only cam i had to hand was 272 grind oh what a shame! The ignition wires are Crane Cams thanks to a friend of mine who thought they were for a B20! lol! the plugs are Nology silver plugs which are also non resistor type, the carbs have been rejetted by me drilling them out a bit and spacing the needle, also modded the air box too, but for full power I just pull it off like in the picture!

Had this dyno done with just the exhaust and carb mods nearly 115bhp and 127.5lbft not bad for a 1.8l 12 valve! Now it has a 272 degree camshaft which really makes it shift especially after 3k rpm like having vtec! lol!

Im really impresses with the numbers on that thing so basically you made 10 less hp than I did! Where did you get your cam at? And how did you make so much torque!

Thanks guys yes looking after Red well, Looking at rebuilding the suspension next as the bushes are pretty soft so if you brake really hard which is possible now I have my EBC green stuffs in! it causes the bush to collapse and pulls a bit to the left. I could pack out the forks with appropriate size washers that i have which fit perfectly into the bush and between the forks so may do this first and then replace the front tie rod bushes with poly, I do have a complete front poly bush set so may just decide to do the whole lot not sure yet. Shocks are good but need a decent set of lowering springs the ones i have the rears are too soft and over humps it's bouncing quite low and sometimes catches. When I have the suspension apart I'm going to have all the parts properly painted up so they don't go rusty so hopefully only bit of rust will be round the brake disks! and exhaust manifold! lol!
The engine is a good one but low miles and allways been gently driven by previous owner, the dyno was a surprise considering all I had done was tinker with ignition, had a custom downpipe and system in 2" made but it was a really good job by a very well experienced racing exhaust fabricator, and also the stock cast manifold was off my silver blue prelude which had been ported and flowed internally which also helped. Now the engine has the cam in I really should have it dynoed again as it really does fly even more so since I changed the oil from 10/40w to 5/40 fully sythetic, so far no leaks too from using the more slippery thinner oil. The engines power band is from around 3k-7.5k and can pull a pretty nifty 0-60 time especially if the tank isn't full and I generally run without the jack and spare tyre in the boot have a can of glue instead. Would be nice to ditch the power steering and save more weight and less trouble but to be honest is quite nice having the power steering and if my GF drives the car at some point it won't be hard for her little arms! lol! I think the only other thing I would plan for this car on the engine would be if the head gasket failed I would most likely port and flow the head and drop in some bigger valves. I reckon power is around 135-140bhp and torque about 130lbft don't forget though UK cars don't need a CAT so a lot of the extra power and torque is from not having to run one!

rich you know I love your cars... If you want springs have you thought of kings or lovels. They run about AU$320 which used to be a great deal for you... now not so much! I'll keep an eye out for cheepies if you like? I just got a set from the wreckers with KYB's for AUD$160 all corners... now that's cheap! Will let you know how they go if you like.

With new bush i think they will be pretty good...

any idea what the spring rates are on them? Are they pretty meaty on the rear springs? most seem to be soft and saggy still! :(

not 100% sure on the spring rates.. I'll check it out on the kings website and once they are installed (no time weekend just gone) I'll let you know how they feel.

Alex knows of a couple of NZ spring companies too...
