Hey everyone, I'm still new here. Posted a few times in the Technical section, but I thought I'd give a shout out here. I'm originally from New Orleans, but I live in Shippensburg, PA now. I've got an '89 Accord DX Hatch, 5 speed. Not sure if I'm keeping it because I'm more familiar with fuel injection, but she's a good running car, minus the cruddy idle. Hah! It supposedly has about 130K on it. Bad respray over the Polar White color, interior isn't too bad. I'm looking at buying an LX-i Coupe with 156k that's in better shape for $1000.00 and either keeping this one to tinker with or sell!

The interior isn't too bad. It's got the vinyl headliner, which I prefer anyday over anything cloth that can fall apart. The vinyl ones seem to hold up pretty well. The DX's seem to have seat fabric that likes to wear out fast, and my driver's side seat closest to the door is no exception. I'm convinced that Honda dashboards from this generation of Accord just don't get cracks! If I decide to keep the car, I may just swap seats from an LX-i since the fabric is more durable.

Wow man, just wow. Very awesome work. So yours was the super super base model S, but turned into an LX-i!

Wow man, just wow. Very awesome work. So yours was the super super base model S, but turned into an LX-i! I can't imagine how crazy it was to convert to power windows. Also, how did you manage to take those crazy A-pillar trim pieces inside without breaking the tabs? I wasn't so lucky!

Yeah. Coupe looks tempting. I'd like to have a daily driver and fix up the hatch. We'll see what happens!

Just FYI, power options on a DX are easy because they're pre-wired for everything. ;)

Get an SE-i coupe!

So basically, it's as simple as getting the correct door panels, power window motors, etc. and mounting/plugging everything in? Wow. Thought it involved harness splicing, etc.

Nope. Every DX, LX, LX-i, and SE-i coupe, sedan, and hatch is wired for power windows, locks*, mirrors, sunroof, and I think cruise control.

*coupes and hatches never got power locks due to the extra buttressing needed for a b-pillar that's farther back

Wow, crazy. I'm headed to the yard tomorrow. There's an '86 hatch that's in great shape on the inside. It's an LX-i so it has the power stuff. I mainly need carpet, and this one has carpet in great shape. Power stuff would be fun, but I may just keep this one as it is!

Power options are very heavy, especially with the 2-/3-door models.

So I've noticed...My doors already don't sit completely flush with the body as they are when they're closed. I guess the pins in the hinges need replacing? Or something may need to be adjusted!

Mine don't sit flush or even close all the way. Let me know what you find out, haha.
