heres the qustion. why is a 2.o liter Prelude faster than a 2.0 liter accord? which parts are better? cam? pistons? i know the tranny has beter accel cause of low gears but i already instaled it in my car. so what should i strip from this car to be faster?

According to this web site a european 86-87 Si weighs 2288lbs, but federalizing alway's adds weight, +150lbs is a safe bet.
a us spec car should weigh 2400lbs.

And this site say's the same car with ABS weighs 2520, same thing not a federal car.

If someone has different facts, please post a url to verify.

my 85 carb by the book is 2293.

when i first took it to the track, i took out the spare, jack, and seat. it was 2250lbs with me in it.

the 2gen lude Si is the EXACT same engine as the 86-87 LXi

the cam is wilder on the prelude and the camgear has a different setting on the lude.

it may be many small factors that make the lude faster than your accords... i can't be sure, but believe the lude is a tad shorter, less exhaust piping to run, or maybe the piping is run better and allows for a better flow... could be a different design in ehxaust manifold... stuff like that... for some reason, 86-87 seemed to be the fastest years for 2nd gen ludes... also, if you have a b-series engine, you could try the tranny from the 90-91 Si ludes... b21 tranny had very short gearing...
