View Full Version : Accord only starts from a jump start

My 1988 Lxi has be sitting for a year, I was able to get it to start with a jump start. I let it run for 10 minutes all electronics inside and outside worked, as well as the radio and head lights.
When i turned my car off the starter would not turn all it did was click, but the dash lights worked and the windows still went up and down till the power went out.

Will changing out the battery solve my prolblem? 1988 lxi - thanks

after sitting for a year, then yes a new battery will most likely fix the problem.

if a new batt dosnt fix it, then your starter is prob out of brushes

How much is a new battery? I'm in san diego and they look to be about $100.

Make sure the cables are in clean & in good shape too.

I dont kno if u have a Farm and Fleet (prolly not) but i got my battery for 62 dollars from them.

Got mine for 72 + state tax, paid the extra 10 for 525 cold crank. Seen them as low as 52 on their web site
