Hey guys, i just want to tighten up my gear box a little. There's nothing particularly bad about it, it just feels a little old... would a new set of poly shifter bushings do the trick, and is there anything else you suggest?
These are what i was looking at: shifter bushings (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ENS-16-1101R/)

Thanks!

there is a set for the civic from energy suspension that fits our cars, it replaces the rear bushing the shifter floats on, it also replaces the torque rod bushing, i'll have to look up the number, they are on ebay a lot

I bought that bushing set a few years ago for my hatchback. It helped take some of the slop out of the linkage. It's certainly not perfect, but there was some improvement.

Sorry i just realised that you mentioned that there was something else that came in the kit... or is it just whats in the link i posted?

Is there anything else i can do to make it just a little tighter?

Replacing nos. 16-17 would also be a good idea. Also #6 and related. Can't remember exactly what everything in there looks like now. I'm not sure that they are available anymore, so a trip to the junkyard is probably in your future.

I know #10, I was supposed to have bought the last one in existence, 16 and 17, you need two of each, will help a bunch, the energy suspension kit replaces 22 and 19, also don't lose 23, the cover over the bushing, as it's not made anymore, number 17, is what I replaced with an aluminum bushings, I got rid of the rubber pieces, but kept the two number 16 plastic bushings to go with them

#19 Energy suspension poly bushing works there as well as the dog bone looking one. I think its the CRX kit but double check that.

16,17# is the one I make or have made in Nylon.

yeah that's the shift rod #16,17. I call it.

I have that one made in Nylon.

The one your holding is for the torque tube. Not a bad idea to change it out oil eats up the stock one pretty quick.

A really bad idea is try driving the car with out that hooked up. :violin:
