I'm going to "go over" things on my '89 Accord this weekend. I borrowed a tool to measure engine compression. Anybody know what factory specs are and what would be good for a 22 year-old car with 532,000 miles on it? Also . . . what is wet vs. dry testing? Other plans for the weekend are plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter, oil filter, oil change, tranny oil change, brake fluid change, techron, and a general check of the whole car. Last week I did this to our '95 Civic and then checked mpg on a defined route. I intend to do it this weekend with the Accord. Compression? Rocketman

Treat yourself to the free download of the '89 manual here (http://3geez.wiki-tv.com/Honda_service_manuals). It will have all the specs for the engine in the "Specifications" section. You'll be doing well if you get anything above 135 psi with no more than 28 psi variance between any two cylinders. You could also search the site as it's been discussed before. Not sure about wet v. dry.

Let us know what you learn.
