Bought this thing for $1000, and have probably already spent $800 on repair/maintenance and costmetic type stuff. Caught the damn mod bug on another vehicle, lol. Figured I would make a thread to track the progression of the car so far, and in the future. Enjoy :)

When I first got the car a month ago.

Got some JDM corners from Ebay... slight rock chip on passenger one, but that's fine by me. Less orange is better.

Took a heat gun to the bumpers and trim to bring some color out. Will eventually paint it, but taping requires effort, lol. You can see how white they were in the first pictures.

More stuff to come, getting it washed, clay barred and waxed today. Have some fading clear coat issues... bought some Meguiars ultimate compound, made it a little better, but still looks pretty bad in some spots. Also got a Honda emblem for the hood... will post pics tomorrow probly, once I finish waxing it.

Some clear coat failure I got going on. Sucks.

After I used the clay bar, I used Meguiars ultimate compound. It helped take away some of the discoloration of the clear coat failure. The flash makes it look worse than it is now.

Also, took the car into the shop to get the A/C recharged. Also getting the rack and pinion replaced, new drivers side cv axle, oil pan gasket, and inner tie rods done. Feeling lazy and just want it done so I can have peace of mind. Car will be in perfect running shape after all of that is done, yay!

Thanks guys. I really couldn't believe how well that compound worked to restore the paint. it did help with the clear coat a bit, but it had been neglected for so long.. if I can just keep it now where it's at, and not let it get much worse, then I'm ok with it. I don't need a show car, just a decent looking daily. That bumper is what really bugs me... thing looks terrible.

And thanks for the compliments on the truck. That's my baby.. haha. I dumped a lot of money into her and I bought the car so I didn't have to run her into the ground driving her every day and neglecting her. Now I love them both... money pits, lol.

Thanks guys :)

Well, like I mentioned before... car is in the shop getting everything else that's wrong with it fixed. Will get it back Tuesday... can't wait :)

Next up is going to be a CAI... I was thinking of trying one from e-bay for a 94 accord? I think that's what I read will work best, besides making my own. Then I really want some fog lights.. and I'll probly remove the front bumper and rattle can it.. lol. Stupid clear coat.

Figured I would update this thread... no pics, because nothing has really changed.

Got it back from the shop after getting the driver's CV axle replaced, rack and pinion, inner and outer tie rods, and oil pan gasket replaced. They broke a head off one of the oil pan bolts, so I took it back after noticing some leaking to have them fix that. Turns out the breather tube on the oil pan was cracked? So, I just had them replace it.

Got new upper and lower ball joints on the front replaced myself. Then I took it to get an emissions test to get a pass to get on base (military)... passed just fine except my timing was off. I asked them set it for me (it was only $25), but they couldn't do it because my timing belt was needing replaced. So, I bought all OEM parts from Honda and replaced the timing belt, water pump, camshaft seal, crankshaft seal, and the oil pump seals. This was my first time doing it, so I was relieved when it started back up, lol.

I took it for a test drive, noticed burning oil smell and I popped the hood and noticed smoke coming off the exhaust manifold. Did some research on here, figured I would change the distributor o-ring and the valve cover gasket. Cleaned up the bottom of the engine so I can see if I have any more oil leaks building up (I'm dreading having to do a head gasket or rear main seal.

Oh yea, and while I was under there, I figured I would re-inspect the work that Meineke did on the oil pan... and see if they fixed the broken bolt.... they replaced my oil pan gasket and oil pan a 2nd time... and didn't fix it! WTF! It will have to be drilled out I'm sure, lazy asses probly figured I wouldn't notice. It's on the passenger rear side bolt in the corner... do you think it's going to cause issues later? Or should I take it back AGAIN to have it fixed? I should have just done it myself... grrr.
