SO I WASNT REALLY LOKKING TO BUY ANOTHER CAR BUT I WAS JUST LOOKING AEOUND ON CRAIGS AND DECIDED TO SEE IF ANYONE WAS SELLING ANY 2G ACCORDS JUST FOR FUN......WELL I FOUND ONE AND I WENT TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT AND ENDED UP BUYING IT. THE LADY BOUGHT ANOTHER CAR AND JUST STOPPED DRIVING THE 2G. COST ME 800 CASH AND CAME WITH A MANILLA ENVELOPE FULL OF SERVICE RECORDS AND RECENT ROUTINE MAINTENANCE FOR THE ENTIRE ORIGINAL OWNERS LIFE. I STILL HAVE THE FIRST SE-I.... GOING TO SWAP OUT THE BACK SEAT GET HER PUT BACK TOGETHER AND HOPEFULLY SELL HERE TO CASH FOR CLUNKERS. :( HERES A FEW SNAPS OF THE NEW MINT ONE.

PSSS

I WAS SO LUCKY ENOUGH TO FIND A SET OF BRAND NEW EIBACH LOWERING SPRINGS ON EBAY. AUCTION SAID THEY WERE IN THE ORIGINAL BOX COVERED IN DUST BUT WERE NEW AND NEVER USED. THERE WAS 7 DAYS LEFT WASNT SURE HOW LONG THEY WERE GOING TO BE UP THERE SO I BIT THE BULLET AND BOUGHT THEM FOR 200$ SHIPPED. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL BE HERE SOON.

I REALLY WANT TO KEEP THIS CAR AS ORIGINAL AS POSSIBLE. I STILL HAVE ALL THE PARTS FOR A 5 SPEED SWAP BUT IM STILL CONTIMPLATING ON WHETHER I REALLY WANT TO START REMOVING PARTS AND CHANGING THINGS OVER SEEING HOW THE CAR IS IN PERFECT RUNNING CONDITION. IM NOT SURE YET BUT I REALLY WANT A 5 SPEED. IT WOULD BE DOPE

You'll have to get new shocks for the springs, as the OEM ones will be too weak. Try to find some that are adjustable, so you can fine tune them. When I put Eibachs on my 3G, I also got Bilstein H-D's. The fronts were too weak, and I ended up pogo-sticking over bumps. I then ordered another pair, revalved by Bilstein. They were still not quite right, so the first pair went back to Bilstein for a revalve. Bottom line, it took me 3 tries to get it right.

Hey thanks for the advice. Yes you are definetly right about upgrading struts, but the only current struts i can find new are KYB GR-2. The Car Currently has 1 yr old KYB GR-2 struts on it now and the car was stored for more than half of that time. The car rides like a new and feels nice and tight.....so i think that i might run the eibachs on those for now so and see how they perform. I see that classic garage has koni inserts might just buy those and use 2ndGenGuys tutorial but then i still need back ones?.

I got around to making a better more improved cold air intake. This time I routed it towards the front of the car sort of like gsr or 94-2000 integras have. i thought it was worth a shot. it still needs some fab work but ill eventually get her up to parr.

Really that's awesome!!! Yeah I figured anything is better than stock plastic. It's 3" all the way from Tb to Filter. Ingenuity is a must for our cars. :) Hey are you running any kind of header? I was thinking about trying the OBX header for 86-89 accord? Any thoughts? I'm thinking cross member issues.

You put those springs on yet? Those pro-kits for the 2g aren't really much stiffer than stock, if at all. I noticed no change in ride, unless I had the Koni's cranked up to full stiff... You'll probably be fine with stock struts.

Wait, a -10 offset? I think that might be a bit much for that car let alone a +10. I think you should lower the car first, you will be surprised at how it looks way better, but won't really look lowered. Might not be any good for a dished wheel without more lowering to get rid of the wheel gap.

yeah I think your right better be safe and see how she will look. I'll probably keep it stock for now but eventually I plan to get those rims either deep or normal offset. Hey you wouldn't happen to know what the correct timing degree is for the Se-I would you?

2ndGenGuy
08-08-2011, 12:03 AM
Not sure exactly. Usually it's like 14-16 degrees IIRC. It should be the mark on the flywheel that is in the middle of 3 marks.

Ok so I finally got the opportunity to install the eibach springs!!!! Definitely makes the appearance look alot different. The ride is still like stock compared to my omnipower dampers on my civic wagon. All in all Im very pleased with the drop. My next move will be to have the seats reupholstered the same color maybe add some sued in the center but I'm still not sure probably oem though. I plan on throwing on my 10offset rims I have on my wagon to see how the 2g will look with dish rims. Until then I'll keep updating

Max wheel gap and although the look good it's just not right because the car is still so high. Darn well Im thinking of going 16" or 17" with a 20 or normal 35 or 40 offset. Not sure yet but I'll keep it going

the low or negative offset on a honda really only looks right if it's slammed in my opinion. i do like those wheels but maybe in a more reasonable +35 offset if you're gonna go with the j-mags.

I personally think that maybe you should find some super mesh or reverse mesh wheels as they fit the 80's styling more.

obdriver6
08-20-2011, 07:21 PM
If there wasn't too much wheel gap it would look really good but other than that not bad.

2ndGenGuy
08-21-2011, 12:50 PM
I think the rears look just about perfect. The fronts are definitely sticking out a bit. Maybe you should go for some staggered wheels. I always thought I could bring my rear wheels out a LOT on my car, and I guess this proves it. They still look pretty good though, I think. What width are those wheels, BTW? I assume they're a 15x6?

Also, if you go with 16s or 17s, it's going to make the wheel gap look bigger again. I think that 15x7s, and a 205/50 tire are the key for this car with a little less offset at this height, or else you need to go lower.

stat1K
08-22-2011, 05:08 AM
if those are actually the rota brand j-mags then they are 15x7

2ndGenGuy
08-22-2011, 08:52 AM

Definitely too much of a polished rim for this car. The rims were used as a reference too see whether or not offset rims are capable with these springs and they are definitely not. Cut springs, rolled fenders and mad camber is the only option and that is the road im not Taking. I'm stuck as too what color rim I should get, I like the hint of gold and machined because of the interior and the pin stripe but then I also like the silver or bbs polished look. Any ideas throw them at me

stat1K
08-23-2011, 04:45 AM
i think you should get someone to paint match the accent color of whatever you choose to the car lol... that's a bit too eighties i know. i did some google searches for root beer honda's and found a nice integra painted the root beer color (which is a little brighter and more purple than your car) but it had black enkei 92's with a polished lip, shit looked ill. and being that you can now buy 92's new again i'd go for that!

OK SO I WAS SLEEPING ON THE IDEA AND DECIDED TO GO FOR IT. I TOOK THE FRONT EIBACH SPRINGS OFF AND SWAPPED THEM FOR THE STOCK FRONT SPRINGS WHICH I CUT TWO COILS OFF AND THIS IS WHAT I ENDED UP WITH. THE RIMS ARE FROM MY WIFES INTEGRA I FORGOT I HAD LAYING IN THE SHED. TIRES ARE 215/40/16 OFFSET I THINK IS AROUND 40/38 RIMS DONT SAY BUT THERES ONE FINGER GAP IN THE FRONT AND TWO IN THE BACK. STILL NO RUBBING CLACKING POPING OR ANY ATROCIOUS SOUNDS YET BUT WILL CONTINUE TO UPDATE AS TIME PROGRESSES. STILL ON THE SEARCH FOR THE CORRECT ERA RIMS FOR THIS 2G

maybe you should rock out with some borbet type-t's like i have on my sedan or maybe some other borbets. they're similar to that style you have now. i like the stance though, looks good.

Hi there. Man you got a beautiful Se-i! I love the condition of it (jealous, in fact) & everything you are doing to it. The pics are awesome too, cause I can see what mine could have looked like. Check out the wheels I have on mine (hope this pic goes over): bummer, it did not!

Anyways, check out my thread: "New From Honolulu, HI" dated 5/5/09 on page 7 of 17. I think they might be the period look you are looking for (Momo). I am running 205/50/15's on them. They ride good, but I have stock ride height! Had 16" manarays for a while, but they were much heavier & didn't look as good.

He makes DIY kits for Ef's Da's Eg's etc. Anything he has done before he has the blue prints for it. Pretty cool. Here is his info on craigslist. I'll try to get his honda tech thread that would be better!!

Did they re-wrap your door panels too? I need to redo mine and I can't get them to look good :(

Door panels are totally original except for the small leather padded insert that is the only piece that got re-wrapped. What do your door panels look like? if there vinyl you should try the sem color coat.

this guy is from Anaheim, he charged me 600$ to reupholster both front seats the back bench seat and the four door panel inserts and also he did the armrest and the two skirt things in the back window.

yeah definetly hit that guy up he will make the seat kit for both front and back and then ship it to you. As far as the doors go idk if he can more than likely yes but shipping might be a problem but if you get a big enough box then i dont see why not.

Btw whats that blk stuff? Sound deadener?

And ill be doing the transmission swap shortly but idk about b20 unless i can get one. I think i might go with the a20 swap and turbo it.

Any idea where I might find a set of those Eibach springs?

i found these by chance on ebay and bought them as soon as i seen them. there is a set of king springs on ebay right now for 84-85 accords but there like 500$

2geeSEi

I know about those, and yes they are $500. They are also actually the wrong springs. I read a thread somewhere that the guy ordered them, and the fronts are totally different. They look more like the springs for the 3rd gens. King springs says that they will fit a Australian 84-85 Accord. I don't know if the guy was ever able to get his money back though.

hmmm well there is another thread that 2ndgenguy made as a sticky for spax springs. I think there called bat. I spoke to them about 2 years ago and said that they can get a set of those springs and its alot cheaper i think around 200-250 shipped. Try looking around the site and youll find the thread.

Yeah, someone way back in the day, like 5+ years ago ordered 84-85 springs and wound up getting the coils from a 3g Accord. It was King Springs. They were completely wrong, and King insisted they were the right ones and that the Australian Accords were COMPLETELY different from the US ones, which is bullshit. They just have their parts listed wrong.

2geeSEi
03-20-2012, 06:35 PM
Yeah, I emailed them and had a back and forth email conversation with a guy there, and he had me measure the I.D. of the front springs, which is about 5.5" and they don't have anything even close to that. The front springs listed in their catalog for 82-85 Accord are completely wrong.

Well guys it's been awhile since I've last posted but I have some great news. Some of you may or may not have heard of wekfest but it's coming to Los Angeles in June and I got accepted to show off the se-I. Woot woot represent 2nd gen accords. There's still alot that I need to do to the accord a month before the show but I'll keep updating.

I was searching on craigslist today and came across an ad for a 1988-1989 accord dc sports header. I ended up getting the header for free because the guy originally wanted 40$ for it but I offered 20$. Well come to find out he said then I got there I could just have it because it was in bad shape. :) hopefully everything will go okay and I can get here installed on the Se-I this weekend

Well I got both headers side by side and I'm going to just cut the stock down pipe and weld it to the rest of the DC down pipe and everything should be good to go. The header does not even touch the cross member it's pretty straight forward bolt on install pretty stoked.

Well I finally got the time to hook everything up I ended up just sanding down the header a little and just leaving it like that no sense in trying to paint it to look new when the car is already old as it is.
