I've read that the carburated engines (A1 and A2) have lower compression than the FIs (A3 and A4). Is this due to different cylinder heads or is it because of different pistons or something?

It's the pistons. The '88-'89 LX-i pistons have a shallower dish. They are directly compatible with any other A20 though.

Mkay.. I bought a 1986 A20A2 Aerodeck last saturday with only 150k kms. My old one (87, FI) has 335k kms. I'm keeping the 86er because of the better body, but I want the fuel injection. How much power would I lose when I'm gonna stick with the A2 and swap to FI, compared to stock A20A4?
