So I've been working on this wire tuck for a while but now im not sure where I should run the engine wires. I thought of two ideas, go through the firewall in that little angled area under the heater core, but this location is above the exhaust so im iffy about it. The other is down the driver fender and come out by the wiper motor. Please give me some advice this is driving me insane. Lol I just want this to look really good. I have the whole body harness out so I can do anything.

I ran my by the firewall on the passenger side where the lines for the AC used to go into.
And this what i ended up with once done

I did the drivers side, through the wiper motor.. Other side, I went through fender also, and right through the heater core to back of engine..

Hmm, well I plan on keeping the lights down the fender but hide things better and im moving the fusebox inside. How do you guys feel about bringing the two big white plugs through the frame by the wiper motor and either hide the plugs in the fender or behind the engine and run the green one through the a/c hole and over to the rear mount to hide as much as possible? Im unsure about what's considered ok to be seen and what's a total no. This is my first tuck ever. :P but im up for the challenge.

Actually...elpuma did you run all three through the AC hole? Where do your plugs sit? May've you can show me if you still have this car :P pictures work best for me.

Wanna come do mine Elpuma? Haha

Haha ShyBoyCA6, its not as hard as it may seem. It's mostly intimidating because of how many wires there are in the loom to get relocated.

elpuma, thats a damn good looking bay. ;) Im gonna try and run all of mine through the A/C hole. I didn't even think about moving the clutch cable but it looks nice. I can't figure out how to get it off the tranny though. Im afraid ill break it. Ill have to look it up sometime. Thanks for the pictures and video too, really helped.

Shyboy if you were a lot closer i'd help you.

Susanoo to detach the cable from the trany you just gotta twist the adjuster off and it pretty much just comes out from there. I can make you a small video for it so you know what i mean.

when i did mine i decided to run the main harness through the fire wall but i did it dead center and so far down that it comes through ware the fire wall starts to curve under right above the exhaust down tube. I used a 1 7/8 whole cutter and basically the harness pops out under my dash ware the center hump behind the center consol meets the firewall. now about the heat from the exhaust.... i double wrapped the entire down pipe with d.e.i. fiberglass exhaust wrap, all the way to the cat. never had any problems and i have had this setup for over 4 years now. the wrap does wonders. you can actually hold on the down pipe with the engine running and it is jusr warm to the touch.

heres a few old pics. i dont have a good shot of exactly ware the harness comes out but here is the build process.
the fuse box.

the first test fit of the b20a. the main harness is just wrapped over the head to be out of the way.

some other wires for the bumper pole harness, side marker, and solenoid wires for the secondies, egr, and other wires.

my relocated brake proprtion valve located in the space ware the a/c parts use to got insed the dash.

3gmodifier you havent had any issues running your fuse box down there? Like for me since i live in a hella rainy area (and its my DD) getting it wet was a concern of mine. How hard was it to move the brake prob valve?

He's had that done for a while!!! I remember his car. So probably hasn't had too many issues with it there...

Im really hoping that my plugs wont be visible under the manifold because theres really no other place to put them which has been most of my planning for the tuck....just where in hell to put these massive things. I totally forgot about the injector box until today when i was looking at it. I'll probly just keep it in the car under the dash or something, extending the plug to the engine harness somewhere.

I did go look at your linked thread master and I loved the ideas.

So new question for curiousity. Where did you guys put your injector box?

elpuma, OH ok, thats simple enough XD I havent even looked around yet honestly. Weekends are usually my time off from everything anyway.

I have had a quite few rainy days and never had a problem. The prop. valve was a bit of work but i had fun doing it. I went to nappa auto parts and got 2 5 foot brake lines, and pipe bender, and some new fittings. I ran the new lines off the master down and into the car via a new hole i cut and the run behind the dash along the fire wall to the prop valve. from there the front brake lines are hand made to go from the valve to the brakes. the rear brake lines had plenty of slack because the already ran along side the right floor sill and through the fire wall, so i carfully pulled them back through the firewall, cut the slack, re-bent them, flared the ends and connected them to the prop valve. never had a problem.

i am planning to paint the coupe soon and i figured, if the engine has to come out, might as well complement the wire tuck with a shaved engine bay. i plan to tuck all vaccuum lines and fuel line too. at least with the engine removed i can get a ton of pics of how i did the wire tuck that i cant get right now.
