How much damage would that do to the car? :S obviously the thing needs to be stripped and dried, but it should be fine, right?

Well pending on the length of time and how bad it is.
Interior: messed up, mud in places, seals messed up shorts in electronic gauges.
Engine: pending on if the FI or carb, if its carb the system probably needs to be taken apart and cleaned out, if there is some sort of leak it could ruin the oil in side.
Electronics: distributor may get water under neither it, Alternator could go bad, Fuse box most likely having shorts, ECU probably shot, headlights and tail lights may have water inside of them from a leak.
Fuel: if water gets in through the overflow it will rust the tank from the inside causing clogging in the injectors and filters.
So really a mess load of problems.

I've been catching bits and blurbs about the flooding over there. The American news media is so bad that it's difficult to know how bad it is or even what caused it. Sorry to see you lose a truck. Hope you are able to get back on your feet quickly.

You got hit pretty hard there. Did you use that truck for taxiing people around? Are you going to be able to salvage anything?
