throttle cable carbed model

Can anyone explain how to unclip the throttle cable from the carburetor. It looks like it should be simple but it has me stumped?

as you have the spring loaded clip up you pull the cable around to get it to line up with the slot so you can then slide the barrel sideways to pull it all out.
It may be helpfull if you have someone push the gas down inside the car, I dunno That gives you more slack to deal with so you can maneauver the barrel out. The barrel being the little hunk of round at the end of the cable.
