Been a while...

Some of the work I've seen on here is incredible! It's awesome that there are so many guys dedicated to the 3G. Props to all y'all!

Changed a few things since I was on here last. Thought I'd drop some pics along with an update.

In the summer of '09 I was headed up to my parents house when I drove through a construction zone a little faster than I should have. I ended up smashing my oil pan coming out of a section of road that hadn't been repaved yet and blew a hole in my oil pan about the size of a nickel. Needless to say, I was pissing oil and had to get towed the rest of the way. The next day I bought some JB Weld and thought I could patch the sucker up temporarily using a quarter, just to get me back into the city. I let the weld cure, dropped in some oil, checked for leaks and thought I was good to go. I was about 5 km from home when the 22 died suddenly at a stop light. Still don't know what the f*uck happened. To make a long story short, I swapped in a blue top H23 from a 4-wheel-drive JDM Accord Type-R wagon.

Since then, I've added a front lip, side skirts, ST front sway bar, custom 3/4" Addco rear sway bar, Justin's bars and rear strut bar, custom air intake and box with cold air, leather back seats, new LED eyebrows (blink as turn signals), 6000k HID kit, rims and rolled fenders.

Thanks Bryan, Roach. Still planning on welding those slanted covers on. Prob. do it when I get it painted...needs it baaaad! There's another guy who did something similar on here with his burgundy hatch. Got to get the details on how he did the plexi though.

what sideskirts are those.

The skirts are from a 2nd gen 1.7 Ac EL. Take a look at the EL's rockers (the 7th gen Civic's are the same). I noticed the rockers on these cars looked very similar to our Accord's, and I loved the clean look of the EL skirts, so I new I could make it work. I found out that one of the Acura dealers in T.O. was having a clearance on EL option parts (apparently the model wasn't too popular, so options didn't sell too well). They were clearing stock at 80 or 90% off, so I picked up a set of painted skirts that would have cost me close to a G for 175 bucks!!! They only required a slight mod - had to cut about 3 cm off the length and then bracket the end cap back on. Voila!

I'm thinking black carpet, but I have to solve a leak issue first. Whenever it rains I have water coming in from under the dash on the left side - nothing worse than a wet carpet! Still not sure where the hell it's coming from. Anybody have this same problem? Any ideas? I'm thinking moon roof, antenna molding or maybe under the cowl beneath the windshield. Blocked drainage hose even. Just had the windshield replaced recently so i'm pretty sure it's not the problem.

As far as the glove box goes, still not sure. Maybe a flat screen in place of it. lol The old one was pretty warped as I have found a lot of them get over time.

Appreciate it...but I left out the pic of the driver's seat that's coming apart at the seam. lol

I just got that rear out of a 2nd gen TL (02', 03'?) last week. The car was literally about to be crushed at a metal recycling yard when I happened to be walking by and saw the rear of the car from the sidewalk. I'd been looking for leathers for the rear for the last couple years and wasn't even sure what would fit, so I asked if I could take 'em just out of curiosity. I managed to bargain one of the yard guys down from 50 bucks to half that on the low. When I came back to take measurements, it seemed like they would fit nicely but I was still a little skeptical. When I put 'em in, they fit like a glove. The only mod I had to make was to dremel new slots for the loops on the upper cuz they didn't line up with the originals. Still gotta figure out how to secure the lower half, but I've got good 'ol zip ties in the meantime. I really lucked out on this one cuz if I had gotten there 5 minutes later, that TL woulda been FUBAR! So if anyone's looking for rears and isn't sure...

Don't have a build thread but I can tell you what you're going to need:

-Custom motor mount brackets (I can get you some good pics)
-Hasport mounts for a Civic H22 swap
-Custom lengthened passenger side axle
-Custom cable clutch bracket and assembly and shift linkage from a 93-96 Prelude
-OBD1 - OBD0 harness
-H22, tranny, computer and harness, of course!

You can use the stock clutch and speedo cables from the 3rd gen Accord. I'm still trying to figure out the speedo sensor problem though. I get an accurate reading on my speedometer but the 3rd gen speedo cable doesn't sit snug where it plugs in to the H22 tranny (I have to keep it secure with a zip tie!) and I keep getting an error code 17 (speed sensor) from the computer. Whenever that engine light comes on, V-tech won't kick in.:thumbdn: Any suggestions???

Also, you'll want to get that H22 as high up under the hood as possible because your pan and down pipe will sit significantly lower than the A20. The front cross-member has to be notched to accommodate the down pipe as well, but you might want to scrap it all together for a much lighter custom tubular one.

If I can think of anything else I'll be sure to edit it into this post. If you have any other questions, lemme know and I'll try to help as best I can.

No. The tranny sits as close to the frame as possible on the right side without touching. I've got a smaller aluminum custom crank pulley because the 22 pulley was hitting my left radius rod whenever the suspension would reach full travel. I'm putting in adjustable rods and moving them back to stock position so I can put the better H23 Type-R harmonic balancer pulley back in.

the leak is coming from the door seal, there is a rubber channel at the corner of the windshield, one on each side, it funnels water from the roof gutter to drain at the edge of the fender, if it's missing water runs in the wrong place and leaks past the door seal, a lot of times mice chew through the rubber piece and get in the cowl area, if it's been chewed up water will be pouring in there

yep,if it's not that sometimes the door seals leak where the seal gets pinched, I found that using simple green and washing the door seals sometimes gets all the accumulated crud off of them and they seal better

Wheels 18X7.5
Tires 205/40
ET 35

They use to rub the fenders a lot in turns 'til i rolled 'em. I still get a bit of rubbing on the front inner part of the wheel well when I turn too sharply, but I can generally take corners no prob. I'm missing the driver's side fender liner so it helps. The passenger side liner is slightly modified (by no choice of my own lol) and the tire still rubs it slightly when the struts max out. I could probably use a little frame modification to get better clearance when turning, but it's not a priority.

Just read on here that 88-91 crx/civic d16 speed sensor (s20 tranny) will work with our a20 and b20 tranny. I'm assuming that it can be used with the stock 3rd gen Accord speedo cable when doing a b20 swap. Another source said he used his stock ss from his '88 crx d16 for an h22 swap and it drops right into the h22 tranny. I'll have to try that to see if it works.

I had the same leaking problem, with my car it was the Y-tube, where drain from sunroof and drain from antenna come together just before leaving the car through the fender. Not easy to get to, but important to fix fast.
My car had serious damage to the harness becouse of the leaking, causing all kinds of electrical problems.

Fedor B.

Thanks for the tip. How did you get to the drains and how did you clear them?

The sunroof has 4 drains, 1 on each corner. To get to the back ones you have to remove the sky (don't know if i can translate directly from Dutch, but you know what i mean, i hope).
The back ones exit the car just behind the back wheel. (mine do)
Removing the sky was not a funny job. Need to remove a lot if plastic first.
The front drain holes are visible when you open the sunroof a little.
I used a strong electrical wire to pierce them and a dishwasher tablet dissolved in hot water to flush all drains.
The front drains exit behind the front wheel in the fender. Just on height of where the Euro Accord has its round turn signal.
On the outside there is a small tube from soft rubber that clogs easy. When you take of the wheel and the mud flap you'll see.
The front left drain hose joins the electric antenna drain just before leaving the car there.
If you remove the fuse box, and you don't have a back problem, you must be able to reach it. Taking out the driver seat helps to.
I put 2 hose clamps on the Y split. And leaking gone.
Just put the garden hose on the left front drain hole and you know soon enough if you have the same problem i had. :)
I think you do.
Have fun.

I really lucked out on this one cuz if I had gotten there 5 minutes later, that TL woulda been FUBAR! So if anyone's looking for rears and isn't sure...

Would love to get it on the track but I need to do a few more things to make it track ready.
