These are some pics of the life of my baby girl. I've owned the car since like the end of my junior year in high school. Over the years I've put a lot of love into it.

Then i painted my car but i don't have any pics of it when i was sanding and stuff. I was inspired by a members paint job.

I had lost my original temp sensor that goes in the radiator. I went to autozone but they pulled out the white one and i said no that not it but they insisted and i was like whatever. I put it into the drain hole of the civic radiator and it fit. I used the same connection i would of used for the other radiator sensor. So far i haven't had any problems using the sensor this way.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the love.
My interior started off as too rice and now its just completely gutted. Then i painted the interior black and added black felt to the bottom half all around and put in a black carpet.

Import racer yea i have the map and idle sensors hooked up. I ran them inside the cabin behind the glove box. As for the secondary butterflies, yes they were hooked up to direct vacuum. But then i got a b16 intake manifold and got rid of them.

Great idea. I have been looking into places to weld in an aluminum bung for that sensor. I never thought or using the drain bung. Ill have to see if the threads are the same on the aftermarket radiator I have as well. Just to be clear, you are using the TW sensor same as from the thermostat housing and not the radiator temperature sensor. My radiator currently sits a bit too high for my liking. I need to drop it down about 1/2in more so it clears the top cross bar that used to support the radiator.

elpuma
12-11-2011, 06:32 PM
Import racer i'll get back to you tomorrow on the idle wires.

Mykwikcoupe yea thats the TW sensor. The radiator temp sensor wouldn't fit in cuz it was too big. I don't remember if the threads matched or not but it ended up working for me.

Well today I took the engine out because of the knock i started to hear about a month ago. Gonna try to find an ok block to put in. If i can find a whole engine at a good price then i'll buy that. The wet compression test i did put out 185 150 165 155. I was able to get 415,000 miles out of that engine though :-)

http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/1752/img0937s.jpg

What I've concluded is that the oil pan tube that connects on the outside to the black box can be plugged. The hole in the back of the block can be tapped so you can run hose to a catch can. That piece in the first and third pic is pretty much a baffle for the hole in the back of the block.

I switched the wiring order because the the harness i bought is not meant for our accords. If you want a pure simple plug and play harness you just gotta pay an extra $50.
Here's the thread were i got the info from to use a civic obd0 to obd1 harness.

All I need to complete my conversion is the shielded wires.

elpuma

I guess its easy. I used Boomslang MPFI OBD0 to OBD1 conversion harness.
I used this pinout to double check everything on it http://carotman.no-ip.com:8888/personal_site/tech/ecu_pinouts/1989A20A3pinout.html

then i came up with this

A03 ->A03 - #2 injector
A04 ->N/C - VTEC solenoid Valve

So here is the pigtail i used for the dizzy. At the jy i go to they take all the parts of the engine out so i used a different 8 pin connector. Stock dizzy only has 4 wires and obd1 has 7 (8 if using external coil). Pretty much connect the stock wires as so
stock ->obd1 dizzy
orange ->orange
white ->white
orange/blue ->orange/blue
white/blue ->white/blue
http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/2013/img1131h.jpg

http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/9559/img1132k.jpg

On the stock dizzy cut this wire off.
http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/9453/img1134ie.jpg

There will be 3 wires in there.
http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/4556/img1135w.jpg

This pigtail i'm using agian was from a different part of the car but just make sure the correct wires en up on the dizzy
obd0 ->obd1 dizzy
black/yellow ->black/yellow
blue ->blue
http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/5468/img1139w.jpg

So with the stock engine harness you should be able to connect these 6 pins onto the obd1 dizzy

For the last 3 wires that aren't connected yet, i ran wires from the ecu to them. The blue/green wire needs to be shielded and goes to B15 on the obd1 ecu. Blue/yellow also shielded goes to B16 on the obd1 ecu. Yellow/green goes to A21 on obd1 ecu.

Here is a pic of my conversion harness after i moved some things around to match the obd0(accord) to obd1 pinouts in post #32.
http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/4392/img1146d.jpg

To minimize the hassle of desoldering and soldering on the conversion harness i moved A6 over to A14. You can leave that red wire unplugged since its not needed.
http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/4520/img1151kx.jpg

To use stock o2 sensor i cut C16
http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/9295/img1154ea.jpg

Used the white wire provided by boomslangs 8pin sub harness
http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/4349/img1155a.jpg

Connect, solder, shrink tube and you're good to use stock o2 sensor.

Oh it's not the chipping I am worried about, I am a bit concerned about the de-soldering though as I don't have the fancy gun.

What I am going to have trouble with is choosing what software to tune with and then learning that and not blowing my car up haha.

I used a desoldering braid i bought at radio shack and a soldering iron i got from homedepot. Nothing fancy my friend. I did pretty much what this guy did to desolder.

I ended up getting a check engine light. To check them with the way i have my harness set up i just have to ground pin D04 from the ecu side. Then turn the switch to the on position and the check engine light will start flashing at you. After you finish fixing whatever the code was reset your comp.

Also to properly set your dizzy just let the engine warm up then turn it off. Ground D04 and then start the engine. Use a timing light and get it to 15 degrees. Turn off car reset comp and you should be ready to go.

I still need to work on my tach but this week imma be busy writing papers and taking exams.

Almost any temp switch will work. You dont even have to have a honda sensor. Ground one side then the other is you'r switched ground to a relay.

Come to think of it... you dont even need a relay for that.

Same with a coupe. You either have to weld some bolts/nuts to the body or you could try making a bar that bolts into the rear seat holes.

Hey what happened to the side of your car?

The side of the car got fucked up like 2 years ago when i was coming out of a small parking garage. Some blonde girl in a big ass truck took a shallow turn when i was coming around the corner and we almost hit head on. I missed her by a bit but i ended up hitting the side of the car with the wall cuz i took a sharper turn.

Coming up here to OSU has reall fucked up my car. One time i came up to my car and noticed my side mirror was dangling. Someone must of hit it with their car. Also got rear ended one time at a stop light. Nothing big, just damaged the paint. And every winter they lay gravel on the mountain passes and when i'm going home for vacation, the front of my car gets bombarded by the gravel coming off other cars.

I do plan to re paint it in the future. Like once I graduate and have another DD.
