I have been looking for a short shifter for quite some time now... cant really find anything for 89 lxi. Does anyone have any good websites where i can purchase them. Or is this something i am going to have to make myself?

If you search lots of threads come up. There is no off the shelf product. It will have to be custom made.

Tomisimo,

I believe he wants to shorten the throw of the shift not the shifter itself(I could be wrong, but it is the assumption).

In your picture there it looks that the rod above the ball has been shortened and the part below the shift knob itself. I believe that will actually increase the length of the shift , if you wanted to shorten the shift you would have to extend the rod between the ball and bottom pivot.

The center ball is a pivit point. If you shorten the above sction and below you'll get shorter length overall. notice how much it leans to the back because the rod is abit to short for it, but not so it dont fit. I like how short it is, its like loading a gharge in to the barrel.

Orrrrrrr you could buy a civic short throw, grind the pivot ball down to fit in the accords cage

Or

Buy a civic cage and short throw and bolt it up with a bit of figuring out how to line the front bolts up(I'm not 100% sure if the civic cage bolts up or if you need to mod it)

i shortened the top bit & extended the bottom bit on mine, ended up very short with only about a couple inches between each gear lol. i know not to make the next one so extreme

I have custom and DC short throw. I like the custom because its just a bit shorter throw but the DC is just as nice.
