'88 Accord LX:Getting more performance out of a stock carb?

so im building a racecar out of a '88 LX for a stock class on a 1/3mile oval...stock meaning i have to have a factory carb and i just cant put a weber on it...i removed all the vaccum lines and capped them(not sure if i should have done that lol) but it runs fine. So i was wondering how to get even a few more horsepower out of a stock carb? thanks.

One of the mods listed in this thread is making the secondary linkage mechanical and not vacuum dependant.
You could also install an aftermarket carb but make the fabrications to run it stealth with the factory breather and leave all the crap intact but not connected.
