Hello, friends! Just arrived here and would like to take a moment for a quick introduction. My first exposure to Hondas came in the mid 80's as a teenaged gearhead working on my neighbor's old 70's Civic to keep it running for him. From there, I took a job at a local Honda dealer working on motorcycles but we also had a Honda car dealership on site as well. In 1987, my Mom was desperate to get rid of her total lemon 1984 Thunderbird, and I talked her into taking a look at what was available at our dealership. She settled on a new 1987 Accord LXi hatchback in a 'champagne' color (just like the one in "Copland" years later!) and she loved it.
Fast forward a couple of decades, and I find myself involved with a few different Honda project vehicles...including an 87 LXi of my own, along with an 89 Civic sedan, a 91 Integra and an 86 CRX for my daughter. There have been others, and there will be more...but that's my current stable of Hondas at the moment.
Focusing on the LXi, being that it's relevant to this site, it's a black 5-speed hatchback in mostly stock condition for the time being. It's lowered a bit with aftermarket wheels and new tires and has a cat-back exhaust on it. Future mods will likely include a B18 swap for more power and some minor interior and exterior styling changes.
