The shop manual available at www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25137 (http://www.3geez.com/forum/www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25137) will walk you through removal of the idle air control valve. I can't find a thread showing the cleaning process.

You can fix this sometimes by opening the radiator cap and add coolant while you have the bleeder up by the thermostat, open, give her a little rev and close off the bleeder. Should be a nice stream of coolant coming out.
Rinse the spilled coolant off the motor with clean water.
Don't do this with a hot engine but it should be warm, so use common sense and don't open the radiator cap all at once, release the pressue off it some first.
The fast idle junk has a small coolant hose going to it and is at the highest point in the cooling system so it tends to get air up there instead of warming coolant so the ECT gets bad readings.
