I'm Stumped.

I can find where i have to hook up the line from the Y connector to the manifold vacume. where is it at? i have the power valve hooked up and the advance D. hooked up to the y connectors.

DAmn it!

Everything is outta the motor.... black box is gone, canister is outta there. everything except the choke housing cruise control i think.

Car starts up but revs hard once and dies.

just need to find out where the manifold vacume hole is.

i'm a sittin DUCK here!
HELP ASAP!

i'm still stumped.....

in the bottom back of the carb, there are two ports close together that are plugged. i dont think those are it. The port that connects the return line that goes to the canister is plugged.

I just cant find the port that i'm supposed to hook up the line from the connector to.

arggghh

the 2 manifold vacuum taps to the left and right need to be plugged.

the rear manifold vacuum tap has 2 ports branching out of it... one large one small. plug the larber port and use the smaller one for manifold vacuum.

from that vacuum line connect the "Y" plastic piece, then from the "Y" connect one vacuum line to the power valve. and the other vacuum line to #2 port on the distributor.

lemme go out and check.

okay, i see two ports out on the rear of the intake. the one port on the left side of it is the smaller of the two. That one had two ports sticking out of it. then to the right of that small port, is another one THAT is bigger somewhat and has two ports on top of it and on the the bottom of that port.

understand which to connect and which to plug?

you have 3 lines on the top-back of the carb.

Labled starting from left to right.
- AIR JET CONTROLLER (PLUG)
- AIR JET CONTROLLER (PLUG)
- POWER VALVE (Manifold Vacuum)

you will also need a 5/32" vacuum line from the venturi vacuum port on the front of the carb to the vacuum secondary diaphragm.

You will need the vacuum secondary diaphragm if you have not converted your carb to mechanical secondary.

I'm sorry but you have confused me...

You only have 2 big lines off the back of the manifold

the one on the left is the brake booster the one on the right is the vacuum tap.

the vacuum tap has 2 ports.

plug the larger port.

use the smaller port as your manifold vacuum.

okay i'll check that out.. but still i have the single hangin tube that's supposed to go back on the bottom rear of the carb somewhere and i just told u what i have back there so,

know what i'm talking aobut? the power valve is already hooked up. the two vacume lines fromt eh distributor are hooked to the y connector and then from there a line to another y connector and then those two lines which one is alreayd hooked to the power vavle port but then i just have to hook up that last line on the manifold vacume port..

ayways i'll go back out and check.

Nope, i havent done the conversion so maybe thats the problem.

oh shoot... that small hose is a coolant hose... it connects to the base of the carb. the fitting looks like the fuel line fitting, but yeah you need to connect that hose or coolant will spill out.

#'s 3,4,5 PLUG
# 1 is your new manifold vacuum tap and the only one you need.
#2 is the brake booster
# 6 is one of the 2 main coolant lines for the manifold.

look at the front of the carb... there is 1 vacuum line coming from the carb to the diaphragm on the right.

#1 - points to the Choke opener (Has 2 vac. ports)
#2 - points to the port you will plug and the one you will need to connect to the fast idle unloader.
#3 - points to the Fast idle unloader (Black with 2 vac. ports)
#4 is the Idle Diaphragm remove it from the cable braket and carburetor.
