tranny questions?!(urgent)

okay well i posted a earlier post about how my trans was messing up and what not but it finally took a shit on me last night coming home from work.. but my question/s are

which might sound dumb but i want to double check, Are all 86-89 automatic trannys the same for our cars, like can i just plug and play an 89 auto tranny on my 86 carbed engine, or does it have to be closer to the year or from another carbed engine. with no problems etc..??
please help me out with much as you can like i said its urgent and i need to fix it be this up coming weekened bc im starting my second job and i need a car for the drive.. so yeah thanks guys

I would believe so as long as its the same aka auto 4 speed overdrive stuff like that

All 86-89's are the same,and second gen preludes if your man trans.

I know all 5 speed are interchangeable but I don't know if the carb and FI auto is the same.

i think they have different final gears.

Should still work,but might be a little slower.

They have different gear ratios, but otherwise it is a bolt-on exercise.
