Has anybody had an engine smoking problem. I got seals replaced and i see no evidence of oil leaking on ground anymore but every time I drive, when i park or am idling after about 15 mins i see smoke coming from under hood and smell oil. The car runs great but cant understand why its still smoking. Any suggestions or thoughts .... PLEASE HELP ???

Did you replace the dizzy o-ring and oil filter base gasket? They both are over the exhaust causing smoke.

I would say that you need to replace those two seals. If they have never been replaced then chances are that they are hard as a rock and not sealing like they are meant to. I am replaceing mine tomorrow and you wouldnt believe the trouble to get the gasket off. They were junk causing my car to do the same as you are discribing.

Majestic Honda Auto

Oil filter gasket = $3.00
Distributer O-ring = $1.75

I've had that problem before. I had new valve gasket but not a properly sealed valve cover. Then months later had to replace oil pan gasket because my car was smoking like a dragon

Are these gaskets that cause you to have to take down the car like major work or are they pretty easy to get to ?

They are a easy fix. You could have it all done in less than a hour. You need a 10mm socket for the dizzy bolts to replace the o-ring. Then for the base gasket you need a 24mm socket to remove the oil pressure switch and then a 10mm socket for the 3 bolts holding the base.

Oil filter base is a likely candidate for smoke; if it leaks it may do so on top of the hot exhaust pipe.
x2 on the advice about seal replacement. If you see oil on top of your transmission under the distributor, then either the o-ring or the shaft seal inside may be leaking. I had to replace the distributor shaft seal too; I did a posting on how to do it when I replaced the distributor bearing (another non-standard sized piece... thanks Honda!).

Man AutoZone nor Advance Auto Parts carries the gaskets. Where do you find these parts at ?

Try NAPA; they may carry parts that others do not

Base gasket and Distributor o-ring are dealer or online Honda dealer parts like Majestic. I matched my distributor o-ring to metrics I had. But base mount is a dealer item and may as well get the distributor o-ring from the dealer order while you are at it.

I have also noticed some oil is collecting right under the headers down low in the front of the engine. Any ideas where this could be coming from ????
