Thank you all for such a warm welcoming! I have so many questions but I dont know where to begin haha. Currently the car is all stock, but I plan on slowly fixing it up! Im having a hard time finding aftermarket parts. Any suggestions on where I should begin?

There aren't too many aftermarket parts available for our cars.
My advice is to start with this thread (http://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=77322).
For all other questions: the board is loaded with information, so you're at the right place!

As bryan said, there aren't really that many aftermarket parts for these things, unless you just don't want a cookie cutter civic with a b16 swap you might want to start somewhere else. I'm not trying to discourage you, these are some great cars and there's quite a few fast ones on here, but it would be more cost effective to fix up a civic like everyone else. I hope you do decide to build it, I would love to see what you got planned for it!

Welcome from Las Vegas. As many have stated, not a lot of aftermarket support but IMO, enough to get by. Post pics when you get the chance.

I have a question...are lx and lx-i parts interchangeable? There is a quite a few parts ive found that are for the lx-i but I own an lx. Im just curious if these parts will work or not..

In fact all parts are interchangeable, except for the intake side of the engine (unless you do the entire Fuel Injection conversion on your carbed LX...).

Everything is interchangeable. The only differnce is the lxi is fuel injected and a lx isn't so you can't use the intake, exhaust manifold fuel tank, ecu, wiring harness or the black box. All the body parts are interchangeable. The bumpers are defferent from the 86-87 and the 88-89 but if you get the whole thing and not just the plastic cover it will fit. Also the corner lights, eyelids, and grilles are different but they will interchange

Is there any where that I can buy an air intake that will work without having to customize it?

I've read about the fuel tank not being interchangeable before, but I've got the tank from my EXi (injection) on my daily EX (carbed).
It fits, bolts up perfectly and it drives without any hassle, so I don't know where this "rumor" came from. ;)

K&N makes replacement (inlay) filters for carbed 3geez, and a few other companies make open air intake systems (cold air intake and/or short ram intake) for the fuel injected. Search for it on the board and Ebay.

@bryan it will work, a lot of people who do fi swaps use there carb tanks but the tanks are differnt somehow, they have differnt part numbers. I guess I should have been a litlle more clear. Susanoo has a dx tank in his fi dx.

@bignich I know of no one who makes a short ram or cai for a carbed car. I assume that's what you are asking. But like bryan said k&n makes a drop in filter.

Yeah I looked it up and it seems the division walls are on different locations in the tank.
Works perfectly for me (and apparantly for other people as well)

Oh well, I don't think it's relevant in this thread! lol

I had a really bad rod knocking, I tried to fix it but it just got worse. I was dumb & tried to blow the rod but instead I ended up catching my engine on fire & leaking oil every where. Im not sure if I should do an engine swap or cut my losses..any suggestions? I dont know much about cars so any advice is helpful!
