I just wanted to formally introduce myself to the forum. I am a honda guy, or i guess just a motor head in general. Its my first 'classic" Ive owned 01' Prelude SH, 2X 94 Accord 2 door, 98 Dodge Neon, 90 GMC Saffari. 87 Yhamaha Radian 600cc. I have plans to bringing the car to showroom quality. I just want to start with the important stuff first of course. The body is in pretty good shape. Some rust in the rear fenders underneath, and some corrosion in the rear as well. 8/10 I would say overall for paint/exterior. Interior is great, 71,xxx miles. Owned by a g-ma and always put in a garage. It runs great. Has a little sputtering proplem at low rpms and hard shifting into reverse and first. Other than that all is great. Trully excited and stoked to start surfing the site. So many wonderful and beautiful cars around here

Welcome! Looks like a good starting point for a restoration, the interior looks mint.

Thank you! Ive been spending alot of my free time lately on the site, looking at part websites, calling junkyards. Im really enjoying the car. drives and handles great. The only thing i would like to do in the future that doesnt quite fall into stock is slapping on on of these weber carbs. With the words "slapping on" used lightly from my understanding :) Any way I paid 1400$ for the car last week and have been putting 30-40 miles on it daily.Gas gauge is broken so Im looking for a solution to that one. And the Temp gauge is not registering, both are bottoming out on the cluster. But im assuming im getting great mileage. Another cool gig is that the car still has the original handbook and paperwork from the dealer with signatures and all and every regular maintenance kept track of!

Not the coolest pictures in the world, but thought id share anyway!

Looks like a great car for a project! It's very clean and tidy and straight!

I think for those gauges, usually the temp gauge and the gas gauge are powered off of the same circuit. So you either have a bad ground somewhere, or you are not getting power to them. Best of luck on that clean little whip, and keep us posted!

Thank you so much for you kind words and advice! Indeed a very tidy vehicle. Actually quite a inspiration and motivator to keep tidy myself! I have no clue where to look for the ground for the circuit. would it be back by the fuel pump?? or more likely to be in the engine bay? I appreciate your warm welcome!

The problem is with the gauges themselves and not the senders or anything. For the cluster and the dash harness, there is a ground ring bolted to the dash frame up above your feet under the dashboard. I would check your fuses first and make sure you don't have a blown one, it could be that simple. Then go looking for bad grounds. If you fish around the wiring harness, you'll see where a whole bunch of black wires come together on a common ring terminal, that should be the right one.
