So, as you know, our cars do not have a lanyard that makes sure we dont drive off without our gas caps when we are putting gas in the car. Well I was fueling up and put the gas cap on the trunk lid and accidentally drove off with it on the back and now it is gone. Where can I find another one???

If you're picky like me you can go to a junkyard and get an OEM gas cap. Otherwise, what Pico said.

That happened to me once. I went down to the junk yard, got my self an oem cap, problem fixed!

I've always set mine on top of the gas pump. Only once in 23 years have I driven off without it and, fortunately, I remembered about a mile away and went back to retrieve it. I don't like the feel of the aftermarket ones at auto parts stores, but I'm just picky. I would say J/Y, if convenient, or...

I hate those stupid plastic "tethers" they put on fuel caps. They all eventually break and they allow the cap to bang against the side of the car and scratch the paint. I like the brackets some cars have inside the fuel door to hang the cap. Other than that I guess putting the cap up on the pump reminds me it's there because it's right at eye level for me, or pretty close.

Junkyard gas caps are great until they make you fail smog...

My car only has to go through emissions one more time before it's a "classic". All four of my Accords went through with OEM caps and none failed.

I'm running a junkyard cap and passing smog too. My point was to choose carefully if you go that route. Otherwise, aftermarket caps are cheap at Autozone.

Mine only has to go through one more as well!
