moisture in your dizzy most likely, or wet spark plug leads. exact same thing happens all the time to me after i wash my engine bay. gets worse when the car warms up too

in worst case scenario, I found it gets worse and worse till the car just cuts out while you're driving and wont start anymore lol. sometimes it just keeps doing what your car's doing

Dam... It sucks too cuz I saw this coming. I had to rewire the dizzy and the rubber grommet that hilds the wires in place disinagrated leaving a space for moisture

yo might not even have to pull the dizzy apart. one time i just pulled it out of the car and let it sit in a dry place for a couple days and it was all good to go again after that :)

The moisture tends to collect on the underside of the cap. I usually just towel it out as best I can and that seems to do it.

Code 8 = Crank Angle Sensor. Highly likely to be the distributor, but you should do the troubleshooting sequence in the manual to be sure.

Got a new dizzy at pap and the cel went off and the car decided to move again... BUT the strange backfiring persists. So back to square one guys.

Thinking about checking the plugs tomoro. I had them set at .45 when I installed them so well see how the gap is tomoro. Also does anyone think my blaster2 coil have anything to do with it?

yes, it sounded like you just cut the key off that first time so that leads me to look at the primary side of the ign or at some point where primary is directly in circuit..the coil, ign switch, connections and grounds.
The warmer the car gets of course the coil would get hotter if it had issues.

The code could have set if the ECM saw discrepancies of engine and cam rotation with ign on (but intermitant) and so many failures inside of fractions of a second occuring which could emulate the sensor being intermitant.
Water in the dizzy could do the same thing though to I would think.

Funny story bout the cel... It was actually a brittle wire that had broken in two. But the old dizzy needed replacing anyways cuz I could rotate the piece that goes on the cam and hear shit rattling around inside... Ill post more as I get further into.the wiring

also I would not describe the problem as backfiring because it is not spitting air and raw fuel or exhaust from the intake nor exploding unburned fuel in the cc or exhaust.
It is lol "cutting out" from what I see on the video!

When was your last tune up?

300 miles ago when I replaced the motor. but weirdest thing is yesterday the car didnt do it. It only did it once in second gear for a brief moment. Also the part of the video where the car sounds like I cut the key is me being low on gas. I barely have money since I recently got hurt at work and am out of.the job.

What about your wires?

brand new when i got the cap and rotor... but the wires going to the plug on the dizzy are hard as rock.. im thinking about going to pap and getting that section of the loom if i can find a good one

Have you checked your fuel pressure? There's a good chance that you have a blockage from running it low, or your pump just can't keep up any more. The hotter it is the worse a failing pump is, especially if you run very little fuel. Running a pump dry is never a good thing. I don't let any of my older vehicles go under 1/4 of a tank. My Jeep won't start with anything less than an indicated 1/4 tank.

I havent checked my fuel pressure but my tach stopped working. I think I recall that the little black box that connects to tje dizzy causes that correct? And since it connects to.the dizzy could that be the culprit?

I would ohm check the new plug wires.
