View Full Version : Crank Pulley Bolt - Official Answer Please
Half the responses on the direction the crank pulley bolt comes out say "counterclockwise" and the other half say "clockwise." I don't give a shit what is "normal" or "right-hand" or "left-hand". Does the bolt UNSCREW COUNTERCLOCKWISE OR CLOCKWISE ????
counter-clockwise, just like almost every other bolt on the car.

easy way to confirm: opposite of the crank's rotation. that way, it's natural tendency is to tighten.
the crank rotates counter clockwise too

the crank rotates counter clockwise too
exactly. i mis-typed in my post. i was thinking "tighten" while typing. LOL. yes, the crank goes CCW, so the crank bolt has to tighten CW, thus loosens CCW. thanks for catching my mistype!

it is a normal bolt. Counter-clockwise to remove, clockwise to tighten. I just removed it last week. Mine has a 17mm head on it.
And yes, these motors do turn counter-clockwise. a very small drop of locktite is a good idea but not 100% necessary
