I went on a little road trip in my 2g this week. 274 miles round trip. Over 2 Passes. only had one problem the whole way. i would be traveling at freeway speeds when out of no where i would have total power loss. i would have to pull over and shut off the engine and start it back up and it was fine. thinking its a dist. problem.

heres some pictures:

Cool shit man. I've got a little brake work to do with my 1g, but after that, we should go for a drive some time. I know about the car losing all power, my 84 did that to me about 2-3 times since I've owned it. I've heard about it happening to another member too... I think it is a similar problem to the main relay in the EFI cars. It's always happened on hot days, but shutting the car off, and turning it back on always fixed it. My guess is that it's one of the relays in the engine bay, but it was so rare for it to happen to me, that I was never able to figure it out.

even when my car warms up it runs like crap. misfires alot. might have to look into the main relay.
i need to get an aliment done. since i got a manual rack installed my right tire is wearing weird. maybe i might just have to take the tie-rod in some. idk.
once you get ur brakes figured out i would love to go on a cruise.
went on a little cruise today down greenvalley road.
gggrrrr i need to find that front trim piece i stepped on it when i was removing power steering stuff.

Misfiring and running like crap? Is it doing this all the time? I doubt the relay is going to cause that. If anything, it's probably the ES ecu trying to run the A20. I mean there's like a 20hp difference between the engines.

I went for a drive myself today. Only because traffic was messed up on 18 on my way home. I did a U-turn in one of those cop turn around things on the freeway, and then took Auburn-Black Diamond Rd, then Black Diamond-Maple Valley Hwy home. What a sweet drive. Light traffic, lots of twisties. Tons of shade. :) I didn't take any pics though.

when im off to school in the morning and my car never really reaches operating temp it runs so smooth.
i have been trying to find a house to rent with a garage once i do this car is going to be my project. so i hope it runs until then. rofl

Cool trip! My first guess hearing your issue would be a faulty igniter.
