Hey guys

Bought an '82 Accord Hatchback just 3 days ago and found this forum today so thought I'd sign up! I'm 21 years old from Auckland, New Zealand.

She's in near-mint condition, "white" on the registration sheet but more of a cream colour. I'll post some pics later.

Planning on keeping the interior the same but gonna obviously install a new headdeck ( it's still running the original '82 Clarion AM radio  ) and replace the stock speakers. Outside will drop it on some low or super low springs, undecided on what wheels or wheel size to go for hence why I joined - what's the biggest size wheels that will fit does anyone know?

Cheers!

I'm pretty no0b with cars so cut me some slack.. My brakes are squeeking as I come to a stop, and about half a second before I finally stop there's a light thumping sound. Anyone know what this would be?

Replaced the front brake pads today as they hard worn right down.. Got a pic of the old ones compared to the new ones which I'll post in another thread at some stage.

Also did the same thing as another dude on this forum did and painted my original wheels matte black, keeping the emblem, wheel nuts and outer rim in the original colour to get the two-tone look. It's only temporary til I can afford some new rims and looks heaps better but need to get some springs in now..

Anyone in NZ know what springs fit the '82 Accord Hathbacks?

Gonna go to Hyper or Platinum Wheels or something and see what they can do but gonna buy them and put in em with a mate to save on labour.

I don't anybody make springs for the 2g accord anymore. I think your only option is to cut them.

Hmmm that's a bit lame.

you might have to run coilovers from a civic but then the ride would be bouncy on stock shocks

Got some photos now. Been making some calls, confirmed that noone makes springs for this model anymore but stopping into Platinum Wheels (in North Shore, Auckland) to talk to the owner who's gonna take some measurements of the springs and shocks etc and see what he can do..

Anyway here's some exterior pics from the other weekend when we painted the wheels and replaced the front brake pads..

Better late than never. Welcome from the Republic of Texas - at least that's what Rick Perry thinks we are. A country with a very embarrassing president!

Thanks for the compliments etc guys. Wheels weren't my idea though, saw another guy in this forum do the same thing and thought it looked sick!

Anyway got an update to post. Got my baby back from the garage a few days ago after being there for two weeks getting brand new custom Cobra springs and brand new shortened shocks to go with them. Has turned out f^ckn sick!

Next on the list is some 15" wheels to fill out the wheel bay a bit and she'll be looking real tidy.

Wanted to get everyones opinion on something. Keen to de-badge it, what do you guys think? Yay or nay?

Here's an image of how it looks with the new springs, will upload more later:
