a20a1 block and a20a3 head

wonder if anyone knows wat problems there will arrive im rebuilding the engine and i bought a junkyard a20a1 block and free a20a2 head wat problems will i have and wat do i need to do? to make this work?

I believe the the heads are almost identical. I know the a3/fi head has a slightly more aggressive cam.

I'm currently running that set up. There are no problems.

I believe the only thing you need to concerned about other than the cam being more aggressive on the FI models is that the intake has an extra tall opening that allows for the fuel injectors, on some carb models the intake areas are just oval instead of kinda a bell shape.

They look the same to me. The only difference that i noticed on the heads was that they use a different type of thermostat housing and the dizzys were different

The top is an A3 termo housing and the bottom is an A1

The mounting for the dizzy on a A1 only uses two bolts.

Can somebody help me with my swap. I used my a20a3 head and put it on a a20a1 block since I blew mines. I basically got everything swapped. My email is [email protected] I need help with the rest. If emailed I can send the pictures to what I'm talking about

Everything should bolt up the same. Currently running an '89 A20A3 EFI head on an '86 A20A1 ("BT") EFI block, no issues
