On this site the part I need is shown as 007.
http://parts.sonshonda.com/showAssembly.aspx?ukey_product=1580401&ukey_assembly=273691

Only trouble is, there seems to be more than one version so I'm guessing only one matches my colour, with is Oslo Ivory.

Any suggestions?

Being a welded on part of the body structure part number variations for paint colour seems unlikely. So that site may have just lumped all part numbers for 1st gen Accords together without the other information like chassis codes to differentiate them.
So I checked other online barts books for comparison,

http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-accord-1981-4dr-se-ka-kh-kl_model17309/partslist/B++49.html#results

and HondaPartsNow.
Obvious variations would occur for left or Right Hand drive markets but all these online partbooks are for USA markets as indicated by the Hondas Area codes.
KA - USA (49 States) - LHD
KH - China, South America (American countries w/ high altitude) - LHD
KL - USA (California) - LHD

these provided

04702-671-670ZZ '76-'79 3dr -4dr KA KH KL
04702-689-670ZZ '80 3dr - 4dr KA KH KL
60651-689-670ZZ '81 3dr-4dr KA KH
60651-689-690ZZ '81 3dr-4dr KL

I had never noticed the changes for '80 or '81, and that there should be a specific part just for Californian models is even more amazing, but it may simply have been an extra mounting hole for something.

Given the difficulty of removing and replacing this part though the original would have to be in pretty terrible condition not to just repair it!

I agree, I think I'll have the hole filled, thanks!

Welded hopefully.
Just before you do though, it may be worth removing the wiper motor and having a good poke around underneath it as well.
Honda placed a bituminous pad over this area as a sound-deadener which sometimes doesn't adhere closely to every bump in the surface.. trapping water beneath for rust to develop. Unfortunately on my '77 (& my '81 Prelude) I found some crunchy bubbles so chipped the pad away to reveal a few holes also requiring welding...
